- Good question! I have lots of experience driving cranes lifting boats in and out of the water mainly. But I don't really think this ever occurred to me. So I had a look around on the old www - which I do not usually do, much, in 'Answers'. But here's your answer, I reckon (another interesting QA site, too! - I leave you the thread in Source(s).): The steel used for crane hooks are based on the application. For cold temp. use you'll need LCC or low temp carbon steel (requiring Charpy Impact values of 15 foot pounds at - 25 degrees F. The materials used can be either cast ASTM A148, or 9060, or A487 4B or a forged 4140 material. All have the properties in the ASTM specs (see specs on line . com). All of these specs have specific heat treats that are part of the individual specs.

Then this adds another = 1/2 * 1/3 *6 = 1 So total moment is 30 + 1 = 31 The body of the crane must be MORE than this. Suppose the C.G. of the crane is 2 meters behind the same fulcrum. Then weight of the body must be 31/ 2 = 15.5 tons. Lets say the weight is 16 tons. Then the TOTAL mobile cranes weight would be 16 (body) + 1/2 (arm) ~ 16.5 tons It all depends on the dimensions of the crane, and where the c.g. is located. If the crane has ballast added right at the back, then it's overall weight can be made less since it's c.g. would get shifted further away from the fulcrum

(after all that hard work!) then... make mobiles or garlands, and pictures out of the cranes (pasting them onto another paper in the shape of something else) give them to friends, (i know my friends love getting cranes, they think they're cool) put them in scrapbooks, use them in cards, use them as bookmarks or decoration for a party, (a i'm done folding 1000 cranes party) so many possibilities!

- I don't really understand what you're saying, but I'll try to help. You can only enter the crane every few minutes or so (I'm not sure of the exact time). When the crane is closed, there will be a gray door barring the way. When it is open, it will have a greenish-yellowish open doorway. You have to wait for it to arrive and open.
