- Required conditions for equilibrium (Other wise the scaffold is moving) Sum of forces = 0 Sum of Torques = 0 Sum of Forces Painter: 800 N DOWN Scaffold: 100 N Down Sum of tensions in chains = 800 + 100 = 900 N UP Sum of Torques (Pick one end, it does not matter which. I choose the Left end) Torque = Force * Lever arm Painter is 3.0 meters from Left end Tp = 800 N * 3.00 m = 2,400 N-m CW (Clockwise) Center of gravity is at the center of the scaffold or 4/2 = 2 meters from the Left enf Ts = 100 * 2 = 200 N-m CW This means that the chain on the Right end must supply 2400 + 200 = 2600 N-m CCW Tc = Fc * 4.00 m 2600 = Fc * 4 Fc= 650 N UP Total need up is 900 N====> 900 - 650 = 250 N in Left chain QED

- It's not SUPER dangerous, but I wouldn't recommend getting them at the same time.
- Q: Basically iv had my scaffold for around 2 years, it is completely healed. About six months ago i had to take the single bar out and put two separate bars in, i went to the shop i had it done at and they sold me two clear labret bars, at the time i did not realise that these were much thinner than my normal bar and because after time they became brittle and discoloured i changed them to two metal eyebrow bars as a short term solution, i need some advice on what to do regards changing back to a single scaffold bar, i would like to freely be able to change between a single bar and two bars/hoop, but im sure it would cause too much damage to my ear and too much pain to keep stretching it to a scaffold bar to then let it go down and stretch it again i will be needing a single bar at weekends not in the week, what should i do?
- To return to the bar, you'll need to go to your piercer to have it reinserted using a small taper. Switching it back and forth from a single bar to hoops is absolutely not recommended because the hoops have a curve and will cause the bar to not fit properly because it will change the angle of the piercing, you can use straight barbell studs that are the same gauge as your single bar though without complication.
- Q: Other than it being cheaper and more eco friendly than steel scaffolding, why is bamboo used to make scaffolding in hong kong and china?
- Bamboo building were mainly used in HK and still being used. They are cheap, traditional, grow fast, easily decompose, lighter, easy to navigate, and faster. However they are not as strong as steel and have a higher chance of collapsing which is very rare.

- Did you notify your supervisor that you didn't feel safe on the scaffold, and were told to use it anyway? If yes, quite a bit of compensation and hopefully enough punitive damages to put them out of business. If not, sorry guy, Workman's comp. only. Next time be more safe.
- Q: I've been wanting an industrial piercing for quite a while now, and thankfully I convinced my parents to let me get it done about two weeks ago. We were on vacation in Florida last week and my mom said I could get it done there if I wanted, so we went into a tattoo shop and asked about it. They told me something I'd never heard before, that they would pierce the holes with hoops and in about a month I could put the barbell in. The piercers told me it would heal a lot easier this way and if the barbell was put in right away I'd end up taking it out because of the pain. This makes sense of course, but I have NEVER heard of it being pierced this way, and once the holes heal, won't they be off in aligning the bar with the piercings, causing me even more pain?They told me if I get it pierced in my home town to tell the piercer to do it the way they suggested but I'm not sure at all. I could take the pain if that was the only issue, but if it would heal better.. I'm not sure. Help? Thanks!
- i have a friend who got that done, and i am also wanting to get that done. she says it was a smart move to put the hoops in, and then the barbell, because it does reduce a lot of the pain. anyway, about the healing better, i didn't know that, but if that is the case, better safe than sorry.
