1. Since it's a volume charge distribution , charge = rho*volume . Take a cylindrical gaussian surface of length 'h' at distance r from the axis . Now , E*2pie*r*h = q/epsilon = rho*pie*r^2*h/epsilon . which gives E = rho*r/2epsilon . 2. The electric field due to non-conducting sheet is sigma/2epsilon which gives your answer sigma = -2mg(epsilon)/q . The electric field due to conducting plate is sigma/epsilon since it has two effective surfaces with charge . You must have got confused there . Hope this helps .

Yes and no. Acrylic is cuttable, depending on how easy is based on thickness. If you get up into 3/4 and up, can be a bit more tough but it is cuttable for sure. You can use table saws, jigsaws, router, etc.. just about anything. Now flexible not a whole bunch. It will bend but can snap pretty easy if you try to flex at a good angle. If you need something very flexible try Lexan (polycarbonate), you can flex it like crazy and its stronger then acrylic and can come in all sort of colors and transparent, plus can cut with jigsaw, table saw, etc.. Little more spendy though. Good luck and have fun!

it's just a moisture barrier. ya! be fine. duct tape to mount iffin you don't have the putty. which you can get a roll of at any auto parts store. re-speakers? the barrier does nothing. nothing short of it's own little enclosure will help those. and that's not always possible. -------- speakers are no better than their enclosures. w/o one, or wrong type, might as well hang it in mid air. but don't let that stop you. it's commonly done in doors. just sayin. i have, if the door skin is close to the magnet, afixed/glued 1/8 thick section of press board to the door skin. as much as it can, cuts down on the influence the door skin *may* have on the magnet.
