- A friend had a 16x32 prefabricated garage moved a couple of years ago to his new home, less than a mile awayAfter asking around, he found a man who had an equipment rental business who would move it for him on a rollback truckThere was a lot of prep work getting it ready to load and it took quite some time to doIt was touchy loading and unloading it-keeping it balanced from side to side- so that they didn't lose it off the flatbed while pulling it onto the truck and later bringing it off to the groundThen it had to be leveled up againTime consuming from start to finish, but he got it movedIt was somewhat expensive, and he probably would have been as well off to just have bought or built another building in the long run It had been delivered and set up at his first home by the company that manufactured it , but they wouldn't agree to move it for him for pay to his present locationThey only moved what they sold and didn't hire the trucks out to anyone, but maybe in your area you could find out who builds and delivers buildings-not the one who built yours- and possibly they would agree to move yours for youAlso some mobile home movers may be able to move the building I know Lowe's sells storage buildings, and I assume they deliver and set them up, but don't know if they would be able to move a large one like yours What about some of the large wrecker services? They may have other equipment which would handle a 16x24 size Or heavy equipment movers possibly? All I know is that it is a hard job, and unless you are lucky , it's not cheapIf you do find a mover, I would recommend someone who is bonded and insuredAsk to SEE the proof before you hireGood luck to you.
