Q: my grandma's dog is afraid of smoke detectors and wont stop panting and shaking. he is constantly under her feet. he is even afraid if he hears it on television
its a bit odd but im sure she will bag up soon!
Q: I drive about 1500 miles a month. How many miles before the studs are rendered useless?
I responded to one asker by saying, this has to be the dumbest thing I've heard in a long time but I would like to retract that statement and insert it in this comment. It is absolutely ridiculous that the man was awarded ANYTHING. There is a list of policies that you have to sign and one of those policies is tardiness adherence. You must show up to work on time and if there is a habit of you breaking that policy you will be punished up to the point of termination. If you show up 4 minutes late all the time, then leave your house 10 minutes earlier and you will be early/on time! It's common sense. It's sad that employers have to eventually lay off hard workers because the worthless ones sue them and they have to account for those losses. It's even more sad that the man was awarded a LARGE sum of money for being a terrible worker! There was NO element of racism in any of that!
Q: So right after the curved pipe that comes out of the muffler a piece of pipe, probably a little over a foot long rust off. The pipe itself wasn't that rusted just the ends of the piece that broke off. The front of the exhaust pipe is still secure and the curved section attached to the muffler seems secure as well. My father is good at fixing cars and is going to replace this section with another piece of pipe and fittings/clamps etc. Does this sound like an okay fix?
Newton is correct. Gravity is attraction between masses. Einstein however, is also correct. Mass causes a warping in the fabric of space-time, which is perceived as gravity. Just because one is right does not mean that the other is wrong. They are both correct, two sides of the same cookie.
Q: describe how endodontics complies with Health and Safety in Work Act 1974?
Fire extinguisher, buckets of water. If it doesn't work, call 911.

Some locks have security measures built into the design that prevents if from being carded. If you have a normally keyed lock you have many options. You might look to the hinges, an open window, brute force, or drill out the lock. There are more subtle methods that are less appropriate for an open forum.
Q: Sometimes the skates were too loose even tightening them up, so we would go into the kitchen and get one of those jar rubbers used for canning and put them around the end of the skate. Worked like a charm.
Lead pipes (no longer used) Iron pipes (used for fresh and waste water) PVC - Polyvinyl Chloride (used for fresh and waste water) Copper pipes (used for fresh water, natural gas) Pipes have even been constructed of wooden boxes, prior to 1900. There are L and T shaped fittings for pipes, along with end caps. PVC pipes use a purple compound which joins the sections together. Copper pipes are usually sealed with solder. Iron pipes are threaded together, and a small amount of teflon tape is wrapped around the threads before assembly for a good seal. Hope this answers your question.
Q: I drive a '91 Nissan Stanza, manual transmission, and we've never really driven it in the winter since it's been sort of a back up car, but since I turned 17, I finally am granted the privilege of having my own! The problem is, winter is coming up in Colorado, and I'm afraid it won't be able to make itthere's a steep hill right at my school in the mornings, and sometimes it may ice upand driving a manual in that situation sucks..am I going to be okay? Also, my second question is, every summer, I go up to the mountains, and there is a dirt road that's considerably steep and bumpy for about 3-4 miles, and I was wondering if this car could make it? I haven't souped it up at all..it's pretty much just in good conditionthx all
without seeing the job-but having done a lot of repairs in older houses-i can sympathise with your very real problem.the first being that the last home-owners either were unaware or were too cheap to do the job properly. there is only one solution that i would reccomendhire a licenced bonded plumber to inspect the projectwalls will probably have to be opened so be prepaired to hire a carpenter to repair the finished job. this is not a job for your local handyman-if done improperly it may cost you a lot more in the future. a TEMPORARY fix- you can use dialectric fittings-threaded one end(galv. end)-sweat joint other(copper end). i cannot stress enough that this is a band-aid fix.DO THE JOB RIGHT and save future expense headach.good luck
Q: I have pretty reasonable mech knowledge but not with turbos, Ive been reading a little on draw thru and blow thru turbo setups, I have access to turbos piping and intercoolers and my engine is a rotary 13b carbi fed engine(Its a toy and I dont care if I wreck it in the process)Anyone done their own?any reccomendations or advice?bare in mind Im not after a drag-car setup just a stupid lil booster to mess around with on fridays after work
i'd go to the hardware and buy a double compression fitting cut the pipe as needed and put the fitting in. it will last forever. . these fixes are just that fixes what you want is to repair the problem. i've been seeing and getting info on these quick fixes for years like mike holmes says if you're gonna do it , do it right. your hardware clerk can tell you what to do, just make sure you know what size pipe diameter you have. a pin hole is going to keep getting bigger just like a cavity on your tooth will. and in comes murphy's law
Q: I have 2 small children. And i am wanting to buy a few fire proff blankets for my home. Now if there were a fire on the floor would i be able to throw that blanket on the floor to reach my child and could i throw that blanket around us to help prevent us from catching on fire ?? Im not sure exactly how they work. Where would be a good place to buy really.good quality one that will work in case of emergency.
I tried to make a candle once. One of those little potted candles. I let it burn right on top of my dresser. I left, came back and the glass was cracked and the flames were getting pretty high. I tried blowing it out and then like an IDIOT, I tried to pour water on it. The flames almost touched the ceiling!! I then drenched my tshirt which was on the floor with the rest of the water, I so luckily had in my room and threw it on the flames. That stopped it. Thank GOD. Now theres candle wax all over the top of that ratty old dresser.
Q: I am taking a chemistry course in college and will be taking more in the future due to my major so I want to buy a pair of nice safety goggles. Which stores can I go to buy them? I've searched online, and only Home Depot and Staples have limited selections. I cannot buy them online because I need them in a couple of days, so there is not enough time for shipping. thanks
The clamp you are using should fit somewhat snugly over each pipe. If it is quite loose, there are clamps that fit different size pipes on each end. If you try to tighten a too loose clamp, it will pucker and likely leak. Good luck
