Q:What is the difference between multi-layer composite flooring and parquet?
The emergence of multi-layer composite flooring is in the neglect of rough spring Nao stubble Tong Chang Kun solid wood flooring on the basis of improvement. Solid wood flooring has many advantages, but the biggest drawback is the hardness and wear resistance is not enough, especially the hardness, a touch of a concave. Multi-layer composite floor is the surface of the enhanced treatment to increase its hardness and wear resistance, and other properties and solid wood flooring the same. Far still functional flooring, is a very good multi-layer composite floor.
Q:I have a very small bathroom off of my master bedroom. It has black ceramic floor and I don't like it. Can ceramic be painted? If not, is there any way to go over it without tearing it all out?
You will not be disappointed
Q:How can I cover a slate floor with carpeting.
You poor thing. That stuff was the biggest mistake of the sixties. You need to remove it and replace it with plywood and carpet over that. Sorry.
Q:I just installed 450 sq ft. of laminate flooring. I did not level the floor properly and now Im finding a high point in the center of the room. Each time I walk around the high point, the floor drops a little. Is it possible to fix this without tearing up the floor. can I drill a hole and shoot some type of epoxy under the padding to prevent the floor from dropping when I step on it? Sounds crazy...but I want my floor to last. Boy did I screw up!
if you can get under the floor, like in the basement, you can shim it up from there, if not i think the epoxy might mess up the floor and might even void the warrenty
Q:My husband and i live on post military housing. We have all white linoleum tile flooring. It is absolutely horrible to clean. If the dog has an accident.. it literally stains the floor.. Bleach barely cleans it up. Also.. stuff peels off of it if we use bleach.. ( it's like a plastic film that comes off... i think it's the wax they put on it before we moved in ). So my question is-How else can we clean this floor? What cleaning products do you suggest? Thanks in advance :)
Cleaning Linoleum Flooring
Q:I used to live in an South American country and I moved to Canada. I need to know why aren't there holes on the bathroom floors in Canadian bathrooms? Where is the water supposed to go if I have to clean the floor? Should I just wait for it to evaporate? Also every time a toilet clogs, it leaks downstairs (in every single building I have seen, and at least two of them are very very new). Is this normal? Will it leak also when washing the bathroom floor??
Homes today have no hole in the floor. With floor drains you get sewer gasses in the house that is not desired. If a toilet overflowed we soak the water up with towels and wash the towels. A mop is used to clean the floor. You can scrub the floor with a broom and cleaner if desired but all residue is mopped up and disposed of down the toilet or some other drain. This is far more sanitary than using a floor drain to clean the bathroom. Most houses today have rugs or carpet and excess water is not desired.
Q:What is the ceiling effect of the ceiling
Both refer to some extreme reaction of the dependent variable. The ceiling effect refers to almost all of the dependent variables showing a high score or a high level; the floor effect is that the dependent variable almost always exhibits a low score or a low level. When this happens, to avoid the direct result of the extreme results attributed to the operation of independent variables, to carefully check the relationship between the task attributes and subjects, such as whether the task is too simple or too much of the subjects and so on
Q:The flooring was put in yesterday (they call it "floating floor" laminate) and as we walked on it last night we notice that some of the boards creak and groan. I know that traditional hardwood flooring does that when it gets older, but is laminate supposed to? Because if it's not, LOL - we need to get them back out here! Thanks.
its not suppose to squeak. thats why people get laminate flooring, not real wood flooring
Q:right now we have a concrete painted floor in our basement and i hate it, the paint always chips. does anyone know what we can do with the floor?
Use an Epoxy floor paint. We just finished turning the basement into a entertainment area. The cement floor had been painted with a brown paint and it was faded and peeling. I went to my local hardware store and bought two gallons of jade green epoxy paint and the floor look unreal. Everybody that comes over for movies in surround sound asks how we made the floor look so good. You can take the paint and have it mixed to any color you choose. I would pick up a paint chip booklet from the local paint store and bring it home and see which colors look the best in your basement. Then have the colored mixed and remove everything from your floor and roll on your paint. Our floor looks like a very expensive floor because the color is so surreal, If you like jade try that color or just pick out your favorite color. This paint covers everything and last forever. We have a really cool place to just hang out now. You can make your floor look new with one coat.
Q:in 2002 the old owners of our house had a linoleum floor put down by professionals. it's the linoleum square type, not sure exactly what they are, it's supposed to look "vintage". the old owners told me it's put over 2 1/4" heart of pine floors. (yeah, why??) we'd like to see if we can salvage the wood floors underneath. help!?! (we would prefer to do the work ourselves...)
if the floor was put down by professionals, they most likely put an underlayment down first. that is like 1/4-3/8 plywood, and will be glued and screwed down. if were professionals, and that was done, you won't have a very nice surprise when you get the flooring up. there will most likely be screw or nail holes all over the old pine floor. also, pine is a very soft wood for floors making them subject to extreme wear. this would happen in front of the sink, stove, and fridge if this is a kitchen. most good floors are oak or other hardwoods. you should be prepared to have to put in brand new flooring. that will entail removing everything in that room, and the flooring all the way down to the sub floor. if you can see the bottom of this floor from downstairs, check for a lot of new shiny nails sticking through the sub floor boards. this will indicate they put underlayment in. then if you still think you want to proceed just uncover an out of the way corner first. if you could uncover a closet or such, do that. no sense in making a hole in the good floor, only to find you need to totally rebuild the whole floor. good luck, hope this helps.
