Q: If you can tile on top do i need to prepare the old tile surface?
You technically CAN... but definately make your work easier and more durable if you go ahead and bust out the existing floor and start from scratch. There are incidentals you need to account for like total floor height and you run the risk of your new floor cracking where the grout lines are in your old floor.
Q: I want to lay tiles on my concrete driveway, is that possible. I don't want to hire the expert to demolish the concrete, pave it with gap sand and the usual stuffs. I know how to do indoor tiles layering, but wasn't sure regular tiles will hold up 3 tons of vehicle weighs. Anyone knows any other way. Thanks.

Q: How to paste tiles better
Precautions ????Tiles before the application of blisters, the number of bubbles can be built how much, do not all the one-time bubble finished, soaked with water to meet the construction progress of the workers. Due to improper mixing of cement and sand caused by the proportion or due to improper cement, cement, the proportion of large, strong adhesion of tiles, brick can quickly stick, but the high proportion of cement mixing, cement mortar expansion coefficient, easy After the paving the brick will be cracked. The recommended ratio of wall tiles is 1: 3, tiles are: 1: 2 - 3, cement cement is numbered 32.5 cement. Grinding to be careful not to damage the tile glaze layer, the link attention to the gap, not too small.
Q: Do you fill up the grout all the way to the top or only upto inner edge? We filled it up to the inner edge, but now the grout and the tile edges are starting to collect dirt very easily and it is very hard to clean. We are thinking of regrouting all the way to the top so that it will be easier to clean. Is that the correct way to grout these tiles?
Most all tiles ( there are exceptions) are always grouted flush to avoid a couple of things. One is the problem your having now and the other is to protect the edging of the tile.depending on just how much more you have to fill in, you make have to dig some grout out to get a proper bond.. Any questions you can e mail me thru my avatar and check my qualifications there GL
Q: it is literally burning hot have no idaea wat the problem is plzz help:). porcelain tile btw
is the basement below this bathroom?if so it could be the heat from a pot light. you would not believe the heat one throws off
Q: I am installing some mesh mounted 12x12 glass tiles sheets on one wall of my kitchen (behind the stove). I was reading online how to do it and I have a question. Some sites say to put the bottom tiles flush with the counter top and some sites say to use 1/8 spacers between the countertop and the bottom of the tiles and fill in with grout colored cauk. Which should I do? Thanks

Q: It is in my kitchen , hall and bath. Is the reason that tiling is so expensive becasue of having to remove the old tile first?
Its not easy by any means, but its something that I feel most home owners could handle over a weekend. I would recommend that you use a large heavy blade floor scrapper and a big hammer. Basically you smack each tile in the center, which breaks the tile loose underneath then you use the scrapper to take everything off to bare wood.
Q: I‘m tiling a shower in a small bathroom, should I go with ceramic or something like vitreous? Any experience welcomed greatly!!
I would use ceramic tile. It comes in a variety of sizes and colors and is relatively easy to put up. It is also very easy to clean. If you haven't tiled a lot before, get self spacing tiles. Then you do not need to mess around with tile spacers. This will speed up your job. Also, if you have never tiled before, check with your local hardware store. Some places like Home Depot and Lowe's will offer free tiling classes. HTH!
Q: the tile is like a plastic what can i use to renstall the tile it is on the wall in the shower how long do i have to let the wall dry before putting tile back up and how long will i need to let it dry before using the shower again
let the wall dry , overnight if needed. use contact cement (because your tile is some form of plastic) this cement could be in a can, liquid form yellow in color , or could be obtain in spray . try Lowe's, home depot or any other hardware, even walmart. then apply on both surfaces;wall and tile , wait 15 mins. or more if is cold where you are.. and lay it in place. don't mess this motion or you wont be able to undo it unless you brake it . One note ,do not inhale this cement too long , or you will be higher than a kite.
Q: Right now the wall is horrible paneling, I am drywalling the house, but I really want one wall tiled with granite tiles. Would it be better to do this on the paneling or drywall? Will it be too heavy and rip the wall down? Is there a safe way to do this?
You could put hardybacker up right over the paneling, but personally I would remove the paneling first and then install the hardybacker. The backerboard will not absorb the moisture from the thinset or mastic like drywall and the paneling probably has a finish on it that won't bond very well. Are you meaning slate, as I have never seen anyone do a wall in granite but I suppose it could be done A slate accent wall is very reasonably priced at about 2.00 per foot, easy to do and when sealed with high gloss wet look sealer, can be quite impressive
