Q: My daughter is going on two and is in tip top health, I was giving her the poly-visol multivitamin drops w/ot iron. I like the drops because she likes it and I know shes swallowing it unlike the chewable vitamins and what not‘s. I was in CVS one day and noticed they had the multivitamin drops w/iron, I quickly purchased it, being were I shop never has the poly-visonw/iron. Well today while I was brushing her teeth I noticed her top teeth and bottom were a hue of grey. Never a problem before. I want her to get her iron but dont want her teeth to pay for extra supplement. Will it go away, I dont know what to do or how to go about it. I will talk to her doctor but need answers asap. She is healthy, all her shots, no problems during pregnancy or birth: Iron can stain the teeth. We usually recommend liquid iron through a straw. I would stop the drops at this point. If she is eating a balanced diet she doesn't need the extra iron. Its constipating also. They can check her level at her 2 year old check up.
