Q: I seem to always be low in iron when I have lab work done. What kinds of food are good in Iron?
good sources of iron: turkey, beef. Eating lots of fruits and vegetalbes enhance the iron absorption in your body too. Yeah and beware red wine, coffee, tea are all iron absorption inhibitors so dont take too much of those. Spinach is a real good source of iron, but it is also a iron absorption inhibitor so make sure you eat it with iron absorption promoters like vegetables, meat, fish and fruits. Good luck with that!
Q: i‘ve been tracking my food intake lately and I‘ve noticed that the only nutrient I‘m low in is iron. I only get like 50% of the recommended amount. I want to start getting the right amount before I become really anemic (I‘m already slightly anemic, just not enough for it to be a real problem). I‘d prefer to get iron my real foods, instead of just taking another supplement (i take a multivitamin, but it only has 25% iron). So.what are some VEGAN foods that are high in iron?
off the top of my head: nuts leafy greens like spinach broccoli raisins and other dried fruits beans and other legumes whole grains an internet search will provide you with tons of info
Q: i am a vegetarian, so i dont eat meat, but i have anemia and i was wondering if there is a certain type of food that has a lot of iron that isnt meat.
Green leafy vegetables like callaloo, collards, kale, and chard, are high in Iron, sea vegetables, grains like amaranth, quinoa, and teff, as well as vegetables like garbanzo beans. Spinach is not good in large amounts because it interferes with iron absorption. Soy is a source of iron, but it's not easily assimilated by the body unless it's fermented like Miso or tempeh. Best wishes, By the way --dr.beth--beets are tricky because they do not distinguish between nutrients in the soil and poisons. They are the fastest vegetable in pulling matter from the soil, but if the soil is full of poisons, yep, you guessed it!! I was not a happy camper when I found that one out, lol.
Q: My 9 month old daughter has been throwing up since about a month old. Its not normal baby spit up, its much more. But its not projectile, so her doctor says she‘ll grow out of it. I‘m very concerned, because in a day, total, she‘ll throw up about a whole bottles worth (8oz.), if not more. She‘s been one acid reflux meds, and has tried many formulas. She‘s been on Enfamil lipil A.R. w/iron. I‘m curious uld her body be making enough iron, to where formulas with iron could cause her to throw up? It‘s very fustrating as a mother, seeing your baby vomiting soo much.
The only way your baby can get iron is to consume it. Her body can't make iron. In fact, they need MORE iron as they move out of the infant stage because they were initially born with a reserve. If she is eating other iron-rich foods, the iron in the formula may not be necessary. If you think it is the iron in the formula, you could simply try an iron-free formula for a week and see if it helps.
Q: How do you prevent iron-on transfers from peeling off fabric?
fabric glue it on there
Q: The iron in harvest blend honey frosted corn wheat flakes with rolled oats granola clusters?
Iron is needed to form hemoglobin. Iron is mostly stored in the body in the hemoglobin. About 30 percent of iron is also stored as ferritin and hemosiderin in the bone marrow, spleen, and liver.
Q: what are the symptons of iron overload?
constipation. i had to take them when i was pregnant the last time. my pharmacist told me that your body would get rid of the extra before anything serious happened.unless you took WAY too much.
