Aluminium is a relatively soft, durable, lightweight, ductile and malleablemetalwith appearance ranging from silvery to dull gray, depending on the surfaceroughness. It is nonmagnetic and does not easily ignite. A fresh film ofaluminium serves as a good reflector (approximately 92%) of visible light and an excellent reflector (asmuch as 98%) of medium and far infrared radiation. The yield strengthof pure aluminium is 7–11 MPa, while aluminium alloys have yield strengths ranging from200 MPa to 600 MPa. Aluminium has about one-third the density and stiffness of steel. It is easily machined, cast, drawn and extruded.

Aluminium alloys (or aluminum alloys; see spellingdifferences) are alloysin which aluminium(Al) is the predominant metal. The typical alloying elements are copper, magnesium, manganese, silicon, tin and zinc. There are twoprincipal classifications, namely casting alloys and wrought alloys, both of which are furthersubdivided into the categories heat-treatableand non-heat-treatable. About 85% of aluminium is used for wrought products, for example rolled plate, foils and extrusions.Cast aluminium alloys yield cost-effective products due to the low meltingpoint, although they generally have lower tensile strengthsthan wrought alloys. The most important cast aluminium alloy system is Al–Si,where the high levels of silicon (4.0–13%) contribute to give good castingcharacteristics. Aluminium alloys are widely used in engineering structures andcomponents where light weight or corrosion resistance is required

Q: Domestic aluminium foil for food use is 15 × 10–6 m thickIn my local supermarket, a roll of foil measuring 10 m by 0.3 m costs ?1.65.Calculate the cost per tonne of the foil as purchased in the supermarket.Account for any difference between this cost and the raw material cost of?1000 per tonne. The density of aluminium is 2700 kg m–3.Help please.Thanks.
Need to work out the cost per tonne of the Al foilVol length width thickness 10 0.3 1510^-6 4.510^-5 m^3 As density weight / volume the weight of Al 2700 4.510^-5 0.1215 kg 1.2210^-4 tonne Price per tonne 1.65 / 1.2210^-4 13580 This is a lot larger than the 1000 for the RMC Reasons - the aluminium foil is manufactured adding to the cost - the volume sold in the supermarket is small - the produce needs to make a profit - the supermarket needs to make a profit - the aluminium foil has packaging associated with it
Q: Is it safe and effective to use aluminum foils in a microwave for cooking purposes?

Using aluminum foil in a microwave is not recommended. Aluminum foil can cause sparks, potentially leading to a fire. It can also reflect microwaves, damaging the microwave's interior and reducing its cooking efficiency. Instead, opt for microwave-safe containers made of glass or plastic, which are designed to withstand the heat and microwaves without causing damage or safety hazards.

Q: can pure aluminium be used inside body? are there any published reports? if it can be ,what can be potential side effects?
Due to their strength, flexibility, and biocompatibility, titanium alloys are often used for joint and bone implantsChromium and cobalt alloys, as well as stainless steel are also, though somewhat less commonly, used for bone implants for similar reasonsShape-memory alloys have biomedical applications in procedures such as angioplasty where they can prevent blood vessels from becoming reblockedCeramics, though they include good chemical and corrosion-resistant properties, are notoriously brittleResearchers therefore have sought ways of combining desirable ceramics with other materials to tailor properties such as strength and elasticity to meet system requirementsComposites, functionally gradient materials, and coatings have been studied to optimise material choicesCeramic coated, biocompatible metals seem to offer an excellent compromise between the strength and flexibility of metals and the ability of ceramics to be incorporated into biological systems.
Q: here was the procedure: to each of three test tubes place 5mL of the hydrous ferric oxide solto the first test tube, add two drops of 0.5N aluminum chloride solution, to the second, 2 drops of 0.5N sodium chloride solution and to the third, two drops of 0.5N sodium sulfate solution, shake each test tube and set aside.observe each test tube carefully, accoriding to the time requred for coagulation and the extent of coagulation.

Q: magnesium aluminum potassium
im sure you will live.
Q: i tried to make a oil lamp out of a Tabasco sauce bottleusing the instructions for other homemade oil lamps as a guidelinebut the wick seems to be burning no the fueli tried different wicks wicks like paper towel and strips of like cut up cotton t-shirti tried alcohol and canola oil but no combinations seen to work any suggestions?
No, but you can share your connection through a LAN via a router.
Q: A parallel-plate capacitor is made by placing polyethylene ( 2.3) between two sheets of aluminum foilThe area of each sheet of aluminum foil is 430 cm2, and the thickness of the polyethylene is 0.2 mm.The permittivity of free space is 8.85 × 10?12 C2/N · m2Find the capacitance Answer in units of nF.
My lady I nonetheless use it to cook dinner my hams and turkeys and to store meals within the frig, however its becoming a dinosaur and its on its last leg and there's so many other matters now we can use however up to now years it had its use but science and TechHas come and made it obsoleteHowever nonetheless I like to apply it to ocassions
Q: I have been struggling with anorexia and I have been trying to get use to food againI just ate a full bag of steam fresh mixed veggies with out butter only some salt and pepper and I had a piece of grilled salmon
Well, yes the steamed veggies are good and kudos to you for not adding butter, which can be fattening and bad for your cholesterolBut salmon is much healthier when its bakedWhat i do with my salmon is i put it in some aluminum foil, and put lemon pieces under and on top of it, sprinkle it with red pepper, cajun, and chili powderand for some sides steamed asparagus and white riceIts a very delicious and healthy dinner hope for the best
Q: calcuate the maximum numbers of moles and grams of H2S that can form when 158g of aluminum sulfide reacts with 131g of water:Al2S3 + H2O -gt;Al(OH)3 + H2S eq is unbalancedwhat mass of the excess reactant remains?
Well, the balanced equation is Al2S3 + 6 H2O 2 Al(OH)3 + 3 H2S mmAl2S3: molar mass 150.16 grams/mol mmH2O: molar mass 18.02 grams/mol mAl2S3:moles of Al2S3 1.052 moles mH20: moles of H20 7.27 moles The equation says that 3 moles of H2S form from every mole of Al2S3 and 6 moles of H2OIt looks like Al2S3 limits the reaction (we would need less than 6.3 moles of H2O for water to limit the reaction)So you will produce mH2S: moles H2S 31.052 3.15 mol H2S mmH2S: molar mass H2S 34.08 grams mass of H2S 107.4 grams This reaction will consume all the aluminum sulfideWe will consume 6.312 moles of H2O, leaving 17.3 grams (0.97 moles) of H2O.
Q: What are the options available to replace aluminum foil for storing food?

Yes, there are several alternatives to aluminum foil for food storage. Silicone food wraps are reusable, heat-resistant, and can be washed. Beeswax wraps are eco-friendly and can be used to cover bowls or wrap food. parchment paper is a good option for baking and can be used in place of foil. Reusable food storage bags and containers made from plastic, glass, or stainless steel are also great for storing food. Additionally, you can use oven-safe glass or ceramic dishes to store and reheat food without foil.
