Q: I have a garage door that when i press the portable remote or the switch on the wall, it opens about 2 inches then stops. When i hold the switch on the wall i can open the garage door completely. Lube up your spring with wd40, and spray the rollers. Try raising your door half way up and have someone release the opener from it. If it is heavy and hard for you to lift, call a door company and have them re tension your spring. When I tension springs on a double wide door you would be able to raise and lower it with only a couple of fingers
