Aluminium isa relatively soft, durable, lightweight, ductileand malleablemetalwith appearance ranging from silvery to dull gray, depending on the surfaceroughness. It is nonmagnetic and does not easily ignite. A fresh film ofaluminium serves as a good reflector (approximately 92%) of visible lightand an excellent reflector (as much as 98%) of medium and far infraredradiation. The yield strength of pure aluminium is 7–11 MPa,while aluminium alloys have yield strengths rangingfrom 200 MPa to 600 MPa. Aluminium has about one-third the densityand stiffness of steel. It is easily machined, cast, drawn and extruded.

Q: I have to have the exact measurement of weight of salt and sand in solid form. Here are the materials I can use.Aluminum foilpetri-dishcotton ballsPipettesdistilled waterplastic forks/strawsfilter funnelsrubber stoppersfilter papertest tubesforcepsmagnetpaperclipspaper towelstransparent tapetissue paperNote: I am getting a mixture of poppy seeds, iron fillings, salt and sand in a bag.
1) Use the forceps to remove the poppy seeds 2) Place the remainder solid mixture on a petri-dishCarefully, place a magnet underneath the dish to trap the iron fillingsWhile keeping the magnet still in place, tilt the dish to pour out the salt and sand into a test tubeUse a funnel to avoid dripping solid out on the floor or tableAfter removing the magnet, you'll have all your iron fillings intact and pure left behind on the dish3) Add water to the test tube containing the salt/sand mixtureStir to ensure complete dissolution of the salt, then pass it through a filter paper to collect all the sandWash the sand with water and then keep it under vacuum to dry all of the sand4) Evaporate all of the water to collect your saltAlternatively, you could remove some of the water to make a saturated solution and then you could place the solution in a refrigerator to crystallize out the sampleCheers.
Q: I really hope someone can help me with thisI have found some answers to this question throughout this site, but just don't understand what it means to put aluminum foil on the outsideOutside of what? The edges of my 13quot; pizza pan or the edges of my pan and cookie????????I am NO chef, so forgive me if this question sounds trite, but I just don't understand where exactly it goes.I had wanted to bake my cookie tonight, but just got off work and would like some feedback before I attempt this.I love that people give recipes, that's so sweetIf only I could really bake or had the time to do it, LOL.I have 2 big rolls of Pillsbury chocolate chip cookie dough and a 13quot; inch pizza pan (aluminum, non-stick)I plan on spraying the pan and putting down greased parchment, am I right so far? Then the aluminum thing? Uh, I don't get itWhere does it go please?Thank you.Lexi in LV
I love bacon and don't like it crisp either! I usually pan fry mine, but I've also broiled itWhen I do that, I like to dust each slice in a mixture of flour and brown sugar for extra flavorMake sure that each slice is separated from the other and watch closelyI don't have the pan too close to the flame so it doesn't get burntAnd I turn it frequentlyWhen it's golden but still has some fat on the ends, it's done.
Q: How to tear the aluminium paper package neatly by handy techniques
Use the rule to press the tin paper and use box cutter to cut the paper in right size.
Q: I own a 1992 3000GTEngine has gotten dirty and greesy and I have read that there will be less problems in the future if the engine is kept clean, so I want to clean it upIf I can, I want to get it showroom cleanI have read that I can use kitchen dish soap to scrum and soap up the engine parts after covering filter and electrical parts with plastic bags or aluminum foil or use a commecial degreeser for the tough spots; which I know i have a lot of themThen let sit for a couple of minutes and then rinse with high pressure water. Is this way of cleaning that I have read up on and good and safe way to do it, or are there other suggestionsIf it is a good way, other suggestions that yu may have done are always welcomeIt is an old car with old parts, but I'm trying to make it last well and look good, you know? So I want the best way to get it perfectly clean; if possibleI know I can replace parts, but Don't have the money for all that just yet.

Q: Why is aluminum is a suitable material to use in making cans based on it's physical and chemical properties?
Why is aluminum is a suitable material to use in making cans based on it's physical and chemical properties? I have seen cans made in a can factory!! The raw material is a thin sheet of aluminumThe solid cylinder of steel is forced down on the thin sheetAs the cylinder moves down, the aluminum bends and forms a thin cylinder around the steel cylinderThe steel cylinder is pulled up, and a hollow aluminum cylinder has formedNext, a circle of aluminum is bent around the top of the hollow aluminum cylinder to form the lid of the canPhysical properties The metal must be malleable so it can be rolled into thin sheetThe metal must high tensile strength, so it is not pulled apart as the bent and forced into a cylinder shapeAluminum is malleable and has high tensile strengthChemical properties Aluminum does not rust Most soda pop is slightly acidicAluminum does not react with weak acids
Q: Everytime I buy a toaster oven I swear I'm going to keep the drip pans and the pans that come with the toaster oven clean but it never fails that I can't get to them quick enough and I get this baked on grease/food stainsI'm thinking about using oven cleaner on them, but has anyone had any luck getting them off.
Keeps you regular, lowers bad cholesterol and removes some anti-oxidantsPeace,
Q: I'm washing my lunch box and I need to dry itThe inside looks like it's made of aluminum.I want to put it on air dry in my clothing dryer to speed things up before tomorrow. Is it safe to do?
Yes, I think it would be OK on airI use a ball of aluminum to keep static down in the dryer and it shrivels up with the heat.
