- Q: I want to renovate my basement, but as I was walking through my local hardware store, I noticed a variety of sheetrock that are mold resistant to fire resistent and at different thicknesses. Is a thicker board better for the basement?Also, is there a way to test moisture in a basement over sheetrock or would I have to remove the sheetrock and apply a plastic sheet with tape to test for moisture?thanks!

- Q: My doxie puppy is 7mo and chews on everything under the sun. While at work today the got the lid of a candle and a dryer sheet. usually unsupervised everything is put up or away to avoid these things happening but I have no Idea where she got it from but either way. she chewed the plastic around the lid off and I found most of them but I think she swallowed a few. Six hours later the threw up clear liquid and it had a two very small spots of blood and I mean so small almost specks. She is still eating drinking and humping my arm so I asume she is ok for the moment but I was just wondering if I should be overtly worried. thank you!
- Hi Since you mentioned the small spots of blood, you should first do a good examination of her mouth to see if she has a small cut. I would otherwise just monitor for now. It's possible that a sharp edge can cause an injury in the digestive tract. If it becomes worse or she develops other symptoms, you should contact your Vet for their recommendations. You might consider getting her a Deer Antler to curb her chewing on everything. It will likely become her favorite toy to chew on, and they Last for a long time. Best of Luck!

- I looove baking soda. I use it for everything. I sprinkle some over my carpet before vacuuming to get any odors or pet hair out. I sprinkle some in the litter box. I keep an open box in the freezer, the fridge, and all the closets to get rid of odors. And after a couple months I use those boxes to pour down the drain while running hot water. Deodorizes the garbage disposals and is great for unclogging drains. I poor some in the bottom of the garbage cans so there aren't any odors and I poor some into the ash trays outside. I also make a baking soda and water paste and scrub the bathroom top to bottom it works beautifully. I also love vinegar. I use that for my linoleum floors. I mix 1 part vinegar with 4 parts water and my floors sparkle magnificently. I also put 1 cup vinegar and the rest water in my coffee maker and run it to clean that out. I also like to hide dryer sheets under the couch cushions, under the beds, in the vents, in any little place that can't be seen to ensure my home always smells fresh. Also I like to keep one or two used dryer sheets around to use for dusting or to get rid of static in clothes on those windy days. And as far as lamp shades go I like to blow dry them on cold to get rid of any dust particles.
