- Q: The dishwasher behind my bar at work has a leak. The pipe that's leaking is Parker Parflex PP 3/8 plastic tubing that connects into a metal nut and brings clean water in. The pipe has a leak exactly where it meets the nut, so in theory I could cut off the cracked portion and then re-seal it to the nut. Can I cut it with wire cutters? Should it be sanded after I cut it? Do I use a teflon sealant? Thanks for any help!
- That should be a compression fitting. If it's a brass fitting then they are one time use. You can get a new brass fitting, cut the PP tube clean with a knife or a razor blade - be careful not to cut yourself please, then install the nut over the tube, slip the compression ring over the tube and if there's an insert that goes inside the PP, insert that. Then push the hose into the fitting and slide the nut and ring to the threaded portion of the fitting and tighten it. Be careful to tighten it enough to seal but not so tight you cut through the pipe again. It's likely the reason you have the leak in the first place is because someone overtightened it. OR you can simply buy a replacement hose. I'd prefer a wire braid shielded pipe. Stronger and made with a professional fitting on the end, one you don't have to mess with. My opinion, replacing the tube is the better idea. And they're not stupidly expensive either. Good luck with your project. '')
- Q: Can plastic tubes be customized in terms of size and color?
- Yes, plastic tubes can be customized in terms of both size and color. Manufacturers can produce plastic tubes in various sizes to meet specific requirements. Additionally, they can add colorants during the production process to create plastic tubes in different colors and shades.
- Q: Can plastic tubes be used for chemical dosing?
- Yes, plastic tubes can be used for chemical dosing. They are commonly used in various industries such as water treatment, pharmaceuticals, and agriculture. Plastic tubes are resistant to corrosion, lightweight, and cost-effective, making them suitable for safely transporting and dispensing chemicals in controlled dosages.
- Q: Are plastic tubes flexible?
- Yes, plastic tubes are generally flexible, allowing them to bend or be manipulated easily.
- Q: I've heard that women kind of envy fact that men can pee standing up BUT couldn't you women just achieve the same using a plastic small tube? Then, why not do it?
- im fifty six year previous female i did a week in the past it develop into unusual on the beginning up yet i in simple terms whilst yet first and left my skirt and droped my panties and in simple terms take a seat interior the urinal and pee it develop right into a splash moist yet no longer undesirable
- Q: I am building a cold air intake and I am wanting like a clear plastic tubing kinda like clear pvc or aluminum tubing. thanks!!! near tulsa preferably
- I would suspect that Tulsa is a large enough city to have a couple of sources for what you want. I'd start my search by picking up a local yellow pages telephone book and looking for metal suppliers.
- Q: Are plastic tubes suitable for electrical conduit systems?
- Yes, plastic tubes are suitable for electrical conduit systems. They are lightweight, easy to install, and resistant to corrosion and moisture. Plastic tubes also provide insulation and protection for electrical wires, making them a popular choice for conduit systems in various applications.
- Q: How do plastic tubes compare to rubber hoses?
- Plastic tubes and rubber hoses have different properties and applications. Plastic tubes are more rigid and durable, making them suitable for conveying liquids and gases with high pressure or temperature requirements. On the other hand, rubber hoses are more flexible and resistant to abrasion, making them ideal for applications that involve bending and movement. Additionally, rubber hoses have better resistance to certain chemicals, while plastic tubes offer better UV resistance. Ultimately, the choice between plastic tubes and rubber hoses depends on the specific needs and requirements of the application.
- Q: Our hamster loves to make a bed in the plastic tube and not in the bed I bought (typical!). We clean the cage once a week and empty the tubes. Should we do this or should we just leave all the sawdust where it is?
- I doubt they use the bathroom in the tube, but if they do, yes clean it out. If they want to, and they probably will, they will build another bed there anytime they feel like it
- Q: How do plastic tubes perform in high-altitude environments?
- Plastic tubes generally perform well in high-altitude environments as they are lightweight, durable, and resistant to extreme temperatures. However, it is important to choose tubes made from materials that are specifically designed to withstand the conditions of high-altitude environments, as some plastics may become brittle or degrade under low atmospheric pressure.
