- There are two types of phones sold on OKorder: Phones with a contract and phones without a contract. A phone without a contract: all you need is a T-Mobile Sim card. You can get a prepaid one or you can set up a plan. A phone with a contract: Its a lot cheaper but you will have to activate the phone through the seller, which means for you putting up a deposit. What I would do is go to a T-Mobile store and tell them that you are getting a T-Mobile free from your dad and what your options are. Don't let them talk you into signing anything right there and then. Go back home and think about your options and then make a decision.

- You need to go to the T-Mobile website and sign into your account or if you haven't set up an online account, do so. All cell phone carriers have their sites set up that will show you 1. If you qualify for an upgrade. 2. How much this upgrade will cost. For instance: Sprint lets me get an upgrade every year. Some phones are absolutely free and some I would have to pay a small fee ( such as a 300. phone I might only pay $50). Also, Sprint will let me upgrade after 6 months however, the credit I get is less. At 6 months, I get $50 and then at 8 months $75 and so on.) - there are several ways to track a lost or stolen smartphone. you can plan ahead and install an app such as my lookout to locate your device via gps, or register you device with asurion. however in your case this isnt very helpful. but all hope is not lost, as long as your phone has a charge, you can remotely install an app called plan b from lookout mobile security for free, from a laptop/pc/tablet.etc and once remotely installed you can then receive several email alerts stating closer and closer coordinates of your device. i have tested it on my phone, it was accurate within 3 meters, very impressive. i would like to add that i know most android users have a gmail account linked with their phones, and if your phone is not locked, the person with your phone may be able to access the emails being sent to the phone and realize hey they are tracking this, and pull the battery out. also this app allows you to send a text with the word locate to your phone and it will email you the gps coordinates. again, if the phone is not locked, that could be bad. i know there are several similar apps that can be remotely installed after the fact on the market, i just know plan b is a really good one. but hey chances of you finding it are pretty good considering the police and the technology available for you device. good luck and let us know in the additional comments if you found it.

- Yes, it will work, but only if the phone is unlocked. T-Mobile phones are usually locked for use only on T-Mobile, but if you buy them at full price directly from T-Mobile, they'll unlock it for you. (well not the Sidekicks, but other T-Mobile phones.) You can also buy just about any phone already unlocked on like OKorder and places like that. Usually you'll get most services when using a different phone, but there might be some special features that are not available. (for example if a T-Mobile customer has a myFaves plan but uses an ATT phone, they can't manage their Fave Five on the phone itself.)

- BSNL India started offering people finding service recently. There is a registration form. You can add the mobile numbers of friends, relatives etc to be traced to know the location where they are. This service is informed to each number added to and require consent by replying to agreement sms bsnl sends for only one time. In your case whether such a service is offered in your region I dont know. If you had registered for such a service and added the number to be traced in the list, you could easily knew the location. I think the girl would be somewhere nearby most probably in her friend's or relative's house. If you trace her intimate friends you may locate her.
