Q:How do solar panels affect the homeowner's insurance policy?
Solar panels can have an impact on a homeowner's insurance policy as they are considered an additional structure or improvement to the property. While they may increase the overall value of the home, they also introduce potential risks such as damage from storms or accidents. Homeowners should inform their insurance provider about the installation of solar panels to ensure adequate coverage and potentially adjust their policy accordingly.
Q:Okay, me and my friends are going to fix up an old trailer that's out in the woods, we want something to be able to run small electric appliances off of, but it's to far to run power to. How can we make a good but cheap homemade solar panel that we could plug things into? The trailer is in more of a field so it gets plenty of sunlight! Thanks for any help! :)
you cant make solar panels to generate electricity at home. A LOT of high tech equipment is needed. About the cheapest option is to use solar powered garden lights but that is all you'll get is a bit of light.(Google making solar panels) You should be able to make up a windmill powered generator though (but dont expect much power out of something you can make easily) Do some research yourself
Q:what do solar panels do?
Solar panels (or photovoltaic panels) collect either light energy (photons) or heat which is then used as energy. Because a single panel can only produce a limited amount of power, there are normally more than one installed.
Q:Me and my wife just saw an ad on TV about going solar and saw the money we can save every month... any here have solar panels? How much do you save every month on energy bill? Is it true that your energy meter will spin backwards? lol
Yes, it can save money, but really depends on your individual situation. There are three main factors - how much sun you get, how much electricity you use, and how much electricity costs locally. We have solar, and the meter does spin backwards. Actually, it's a digital meter, so it counts down instead of up. The system covers essentially all our electrical usage over the year, and our electric bill is about $5 a month, because of minimum charges by the electric company. That shouldn't be used as a comparison to your situation, though, since every house is different.
Q:Solar panel packages have different levels of power. For instance you can get a kw system but is this kw per hour or day. How does this work?
it would be an instantaneous rating at maximum output. To get the the amount of power produced, you would multiply the number of hours at near peak output. kw X 5 hours = 5kwh or about 50 cents of electricity.
Q:hey, Im going into my senior year at high school and after that will be moving to Pennsylvania where my family has a house on ten acres and I will be going to college there and living all year around. My father wants to build a huge barn for our cars and other stuff like tools, I mentioned too him what about solar panels on the roof to power maybe the house and barn. Would this be a good Idea? Where would be the best place to look into getting solar panels be? Thanks for anyones help!
This is a site that can help you estimate the size and number of panels that will power what you intend to provide for. There are plenty of sites selling the panels, so compare prices. Also, check whether your state is offering the rebate like the state of CA is and what the restrictions, terms and conditions are. Even with the rebates they are very costly, so be certain to calculate the pay off period for your application to see whether it is a cost efficient option for your energy usage.
Q:when building a solar panel should the diode be on the positive or negative sidelittle more detail i just built a solar panel and im running it to a grid tie converter should i put diodes in if i add another panel or are they only for battery systems?
the blocking diode goes on the positive side
Q:We are looking in to buy solar panels for our house. The payment has to be around or under $4000. Our house is a 4 bedroom and 3 bath 2-story house. (Around 2500 sq. ft.) Where can we get the solar panels? Also: Will it heat our water? When we get the solar panels, what direction do they have to be facing?
Where can we get the solar panels? I think you will have to buy it on OKorder Solar Panels can be used to heat water and heaters. When you get the solar panels, they should be in the direction that the sun rises in your country. They should be allowed to come into direct contact with sunlight for most of the day in order for the solar panels to be used to its max.
Q:Can solar panels be integrated into windows?
Yes, solar panels can be integrated into windows. These solar panels, known as solar windows or building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV), are designed to replace traditional windows while capturing sunlight and generating electricity. They offer a dual functionality of providing natural light and generating clean energy, making them an innovative and energy-efficient solution for buildings.
Q:I have heard you can make your own solar panels.... But How?Where do you start? Is it cheap, or should I just BUY them already made?
I'm okorder / for one of the few honest warnings about solar scams.
