Q: I work in downtown Atlanta, and they are doing some kind of work on top of one of the high rise buildings downtown with a big crane. I was wondering how they got that heavy of a crane there to begin with? Thanks ahead of time!
Other big cranes?
Q: How come you never see cranes being transported from one site to another?
because they move so slow its hard to tell if there moving or not.
Q: I have always wondered how they get cranes off the top of huge buildings when they finish building them.I have had many people tell me how they THINK the cranes are taken off. But I want to know for sure. Can anyone give me some evidence? A web site or something??When I say big building I mean like 100 storeys.I have been told things ranging from a helicopter takes them offToThey build tracks down the side of the building and drive it downAndThey pull it to pieces and take it down the elevator. These MAY be real but sound like wild guesses to me.So does anyone know the answer?
but never have I seen a set of tracks or elevator used...not to say that it isn't possible but I have only worked big buildings in NYC...maybe things are done differently elsewhere in the world
Q: What is the difference between a tower crane QTZ31.5 and a QTZ40?
the length of the arm is 42-48 meters; the elevation is 29-32 meters.
Q: Has anyone actually folded 1000 paper cranes? i want some proof
no. But I have read the book sadako and the thousand paper cranes. I was so sad when I read that. I have always wanted to fold A paper crane.
Q: Two cranes can unload a ship together in 8 hours. The faster crane takes 12 hours less than the slower crane, if each were to unload the same ship alone. How long does it take for each crane to unload this ship?
Fast Crane = A unload x /hour Slow Crane = B unload y /hour A + B = 8 hours x /hour + y /hour = 8 hours (average rate) average rate = (x + y) / 2 so 8 hours = (x + y) / 2 and x + y = 16 since the slow crane is 12 hours longer, x must be 2 hours, since they will both take 2 hours and the slower crane will take 2 hours plus 12 hours equalling 14 hours. The rate of crane A is 2 hours to unload and the rate of crane B is 14 hours to unload. The average rate for both to unload is 8 hours. There were certain assumptions made to solve this puzzle and it is not clear how they actually operate on the ship while unloading. ~~ The most practical way to unload the ship is *NOT* to use the slower crane since it takes longer for them to work combined, than for the faster crane to work alone !! A tricky but fun question !! :-b
Q: A crane lifts a 2355 N bucket containing 1.81 m3 of soil (density=2084 kg/m3) to a height of 7.56 m. Calculate the work the crane performs.
I will try to make it very simple. First lets convert the 2355 into a mass. 2355/9.81 = 240.06 Kg Then, we need to get the mass of the soil. Density (p)= m/v m= pv m= 2084*1.81 = 3772.04 Kg Total mass= 4012.1 Kg The final step is to calculate the work done. It can be solved from two perspectives and both will lead to the same solution. Sol. 1: Since that the crane is lifting an object, then the work the crane is doing is against gravity which is calculating the gravitational potential energy gained by the bucket. GPE= mgh= 4012.1*9.81*7.56 = 2.99*10^5 Sol 2: Work done= Force*distance moved in the direction of the force The force in this case will be the weight of the bucket. Work done= (4012.1*9.81)*7.56 = 2.99*10^5
Q: (Fujian) white crane
U might want to try google. Good luck
Q: Why are there extra placards attached to the tower crane tower?
1. additional placards can sometimes damage tower structures and cause damage to the tower during installation. There is a security risk;
Q: I am writing a story for school about working in Dubai as a crane driver but I need to know what the purpose of a Crane driver is, how much they get payed and stuff like that. And if you could tell me how a crane driver can get admission in the first place, it would be really great. Thanx. And btw, this story is for Geography.Thank you. :)
i am not a crane driver myself , but into this field of construction . get a licence as driver from authority just as a car driver. know how to drive the crane ad a driver know how to operate a crane as a operator. know the performance of the crane and its limits. the salary can vary depending on the type of crane and its special features. but not in the high end grade for sure unless its a very specialised crane operation. u can ask any thing more .
