Aluminium is a relatively soft, durable, lightweight, ductile and malleablemetalwith appearance ranging from silvery to dull gray, depending on the surfaceroughness. It is nonmagnetic and does not easily ignite. A fresh film ofaluminium serves as a good reflector (approximately 92%) of visible light and an excellent reflector (asmuch as 98%) of medium and far infrared radiation. The yield strengthof pure aluminium is 7–11 MPa, while aluminium alloys have yield strengths ranging from200 MPa to 600 MPa. Aluminium has about one-third the density and stiffness of steel. It is easily machined, cast, drawn and extruded.

Aluminium alloys (or aluminum alloys; see spellingdifferences) are alloysin which aluminium(Al) is the predominant metal. The typical alloying elements are copper, magnesium, manganese, silicon, tin and zinc. There are twoprincipal classifications, namely casting alloys and wrought alloys, both of which are furthersubdivided into the categories heat-treatableand non-heat-treatable. About 85% of aluminium is used for wrought products, for example rolled plate, foils and extrusions.Cast aluminium alloys yield cost-effective products due to the low meltingpoint, although they generally have lower tensile strengthsthan wrought alloys. The most important cast aluminium alloy system is Al–Si,where the high levels of silicon (4.0–13%) contribute to give good castingcharacteristics. Aluminium alloys are widely used in engineering structures andcomponents where light weight or corrosion resistance is required

Q: I'm doing a science fair project involving metalsI'm trying to find aluminum, Iron, Copper, and ZincWhere can I get/buy them? What other metals should I use? My project is: What type of metal reacts with hydrochloric acids most?
Iron, copper, and aluminum can most likely be found in a hardware storeSoil pipe is cast iron, aluminum sheets and bars are generally stored near the screws and bolts, and copper is used to make the house pluming pipesSome places may have zinc, but you may need to search online for a metal supplier for that.
Q: One environmental group did a study of recycling habits in a California communityIt found that 71% of the aluminum cans sold in the area were recycled(Round your answers to four decimal places.) (a) If 396 cans are sold today, what is the probability that 300 or more will be recycled?(b) Of the 396 cans sold, what is the probability that between 260 and 300 will be recycled?
adding up the binomial distribution you get 0.0197957 using the normal approximation μ (n p) 281.16; σ? ( n p q ) 81.5364; σ √( n p q ) 9.029750827 P (x 300) P (z 2.08643631) 0.01846968
Q: I've never tried this recipeLooks like something the guys would like for football Sunday, but I have a concernIf I make it as written, I'm afraid the burger buns will get soggyDoes anyone have a suggestion on how I can modify this recipe to prevent that?1 pound ground beef chuck1 (8 ounce) package shredded Cheddar cheese1 tablespoon mayonnaise1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix24 (2 inch square) dinner rolls, splitDIRECTIONSPreheat oven to 350 degrees F.In a medium bowl, thoroughly mix ground beef chuck, Cheddar cheese, mayonnaise and dry onion soup mix.Spread even amounts of the ground beef onto the bottom half of each rollPlace top halves on, forming little sandwichesIf you purchased the rolls in aluminum foil pans, you may return them to the pan for bakingOtherwise, bake on baking sheetCover tightly with foilBake 30-35 mins, until meat is cooked through.
same as what Staci said but cream of mushroom soup, lipton onion soup, foil over the whole piece of meat, bake for an hour and 15 min, it gets very tender almost like pot roast
Q: How can you weld steel and aluminum together. My 2nd problem is that it's on a sniper rifle chamber in 7.62x54r, thus I'm worried about the heat that it will produce near the weld spot and weaken it. Thanks Its a mosin nagan sniper project, and I'm trying something different, just wonder if that possible, and if not then what would be the best way secure the scope mount rather then just 4 screws?.
No you cannot weld steel and aluminum. You can braze them however, which can be a very strong connection.
Q: What ‘s the thickness of a piece of aluminum substrate copper foil?
Gold-plating, hot air leveling, OSP anti-aging, immersion gold, and unleaded ROHS process. Substrate: aluminum substrate Properties: thin insulation layer, low thermal resistance; nonmagnetic; good heat dissipation; highly-mechanized products. Standard thickness: 0.8、1.0、1.2、1.5、2.0、2.5、3.0mm Copper thickness: 1.8um35um70um105um140um Features: good heat dissipation and electro-magnetic shielding, processing abilities Uses: LED-dedicated power hybrid IC (HIC).
Q: I just want to get the best performance possible out of these speaker without blowing them so any help would be greatly appreciated! I am dumb to all these ohm and hz stuff lol
a form of shelter, depending on where you are or where your going, you might need a wool blanket, tarp, poncho, sleeping bag, garbage bagsa way to start fire, a ferrocerium rod will do, but I'd also carry matches in a absolutely waterproof container and a fresnel lens when all else failsa way to carry water and sterilize water, a water bladder, some large ziploc bags for carrying water and a strong but light metal container for boiling water and cooking fooda survival manual like the United States Army Survival Manual (FM 3-05.70) or the SAS pocket survival guide, it's never bad to carry info on survival, you might forget something and need to go back and look for that infoit wouldn't be bad to be able to carry a firearm with you like a single shot 12 gauge or a .22LR rifle for finding foodlearn trapping and other survival skills, your brain is your best survival toolfirst aid kit that can handle puncture injuries and other injurieshaving useful but light tools are always great, like a pocket chainsaw, it's too useful and light not to have it, maybe a secondary knife like a frost mora or similar knifeeasy cook meals and even no cook meals like porridge, noodles, energy bars, high calorie trail mix, electrolyte drink powdermaps, a compass(if you don't know how to read maps, learn, and bring map reading instructions) signal mirroras said earlier, this kit is to survive for upwards of a week at most to get out of the effected area and find evacuation from the area.
Q: I make black-berry cobbler with a crust but I am hunting a really good recipe for another kind of black-berry cobbler - or pie I am hunting something different than what I make with the crust.

Q: Okay in chemistry we are doing percent yield of thingsI'm not sure if i'm doing this correctly or not so if those of you who are good at this concept/can do it quickly/easily could you please check over and make sure i got the right answer for this questionI used factor labeling/StoichiometryWhat is the percent yield if 4.65 g of Cu is produced when 1.87 g of aluminum reacts with an excess of copper (II) SulfateGiven:2Al (s) + 3CuSO4 (aq) - Al2(SO4)3 (aq) + 3Cu (s)The answer i got for the percent yield is 39.7% or 40% rounded.
1.87 g of aluminum x(1mole Al/26.98gr).069 mole of Al 53.96g Al produce 190.65g Cu So, theoretically 1.87g of Al should produce 6.61g Cu % yield(actual yield/theoretical yield) x 100 4.65/6.61 x100 70.35% 4.65 g of Cu
Q: They are removable ones, I have them stuck all around my daughters bedroom, thing is after I put them up I chucked out the paper they were stuck to because we were gonna be here for a long time, now we are moving to the desert and I want to take the stickers with me to use for a second child's room, what can I stick them on to and where will I get it from?? Please only give me specific stores if you are in Australia as there are no wal marts over here :) Otherwise general advice is good!
yep.i agree with the other poster - wax paper or aluminum foiltry a sticker on each of these and check to see which one works best.
Q: I have cubed up some butternut squash and tossed it with chopped onion and seasoningI threw a little (1/4c) water in there and covered the casserole with aluminum foilIt's been baking at 350 for a whileI just checked it, almost done, not evenlySome pieces are still hardShould I take off the aluminum foil for the last 20 min or will that just dry it out???
if it was stored in a cool dry place, it's fineIt just may have lost some flavorIt won't poison you or get you sick thoughIt might be some regulation to put expiry dates on drinks to make the consumer awareIt's fine though.
