Q: Between these two authors, I dont see any similarities in literary style, specifically focusing on The Moon is Down and The Red Badge of Courage. Maybe observing from a different point of view (yours) could help me.Also, if there is no significant similarity, do similarities exist in setting, conflict, or characters instead? Thanks!
Try Maggie: A girl of the streets, which is the novel I think of for Crane being part of the Realist school. I think you can also see Steinbeck, in his selection of subjects as being in that same school of fiction. So less for their style and more for their choice of subjects.
Q: Please no direct translations. I need the official name of the whooping crane in French.
grue de huée
Q: would a tower crane be a first class, second class, or third class?
Did you open your ME book? The answer is in there.
Q: Once, I pulled a book off a shelf in a library and found a very uplifting message on a sticky note that made my day. It's inspiring me to do the same, only with paper cranes since I love origami. I'm going to college in the city, and I was thinking about writing positive messages on them and planting them everywhere (discreetly, of course). What are your thoughts on this? It sounds fun, but what are the consequences? Is it even that big of a deal, or do you think it's a waste of time?
I love doing things like this! Whenever my friends go to the mall we do this. We put inspirational quotes and images everywhere we can. In the pockets of clothing, on top of the sale signs, all over the cafeteria. There isn't anything wrong with doing it, and people love it! I'm sure the cranes will be beautiful and many people will appreciate them. Be sure to write look inside on the outside of each crane if you're hiding the message on the inside! This is such a cool idea, I'd love it and I'm sure it won't even be a slight nuisance to anyone. Have fun!
Q: If so, would you mind finding me a site that will teach me how to either with a good video or an easy-to-follow explanation because i tried many sites and i just cannot understand clearly enough. I get so far and then i can't tell what is happening in a step, and i can't do it.If you wouldn't mind to find me a site that you know will help, since you can make them, it would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.

Q: From what I'm understanding in the first stanza, a women lost her lover to the war because he fell off his horse...Is that right?
Yes, Stephen Crane talks about lost love and sacrifices in his poem. The basic casualty of war. A lover, a father and son are lost in his story and those that are left behind he tries to console. The poem is noted for the ironic use of war is kind. We all know that War is really not kind. The poem’s speaker, simultaneously sympathetic with the victims of war and cynical about the purposes of war, implicitly criticizes the image of the romantic hero, showing in graphic scenes the realities of battlefield death and the emotional torment it causes for those left behind.
Q: Could anyone tell me how they erect a construction crane. Some how they just are suddenly THERE, as If by magic. It seems as though the Boom part of the crane must be kind of JACKED up into place. That is the only way I can see them getting those GIANT concrete blocks into the back end of the boom. It doesn't seem possible otherwise. The only other thing I can thing of is the bulk of the pieces are brought in by helicoper and attached.Everything kind of makes sence except the Giant concrete blocks used as a counter weight. ALSO, if the blocks are needed to act as counterweigth to the CRANE itself..why doesn't the Crane fall over when it picks stuff up???
How do they erect the construction cranes? Not very well according to the news of them toppling down of late. Seriously, the cranes are lifted upward one or two floors at a time as the building progresses upward - this is usually accomplished by pulling them up into place with heavy cables and powered winches.
Q: i will like to crane operator?
You made a statement, you will like to crane (an) operator. Which operator is it you are going to like to crane? If you mean would you like to operate a crane, that is up to you. If you mean can you be a crane operator, that is up to an employer. You need to be employed as one, and that probably means training and experience before being allowed to operate cranes for him/ her.
Q: I was wondering how those guys/gals get up to their posts. Is there some type of elevator or do they climb up everyday? I'm talking about those big cranes on contruction sites. the huge ones.
They climb a ladder up the middle of the central tower. I saw 'it' on the History Channel. .
