Q: Is there a free site or resource that will teach you how to do this? Hopefully step by step and tells you how to buy all the parts ect?Which is the best resource for sale earth4energy, homemadeenergy, ect? Do they actually work and also as well as those which are professionally done? They say it will cost under $200 for a panel, but how much will this panel actually produce I mean how many panels would you have to make to produce 00% of your homes energy?
I have no idea the out put of the panel you plan to make, but $200.00 will not even come close to power much. You don't say whether you want to power your house straight from the solar panels (not possible, because the sun doesn't shine 24/7). That being said, you will need a very large array to power your house, going to battery's to inverter to get AC power. Your initial cost would be around $25000,00, but you might be eligible for a tax rebate and maybe a rebate from your state and power company. There is a lot more to be said on the subject, but this is enough to either get you started or discouraged.
Q: My washer is 20 volts 60 gz,9.6 amps. The solar panels I am looking at are: Sharp ND-208U Solar Panels (208 Watt) List Price $,479.99 Only $,049.99 Sharp Solar Panels (208 Watt) List Price $,352.99 Only $,040.99 If I buy that will it be enough to run my washer?
Can't answer your questions but you can find those panels for $984.50, which is signficant if you are buying more than one. An uneducated guess would be that one panel would be enough to power the clothes washer, but maybe not the clothes dryer. The washer is just a motor and a spinning device.
Q: i am looking at installing some solar panels and a wind turbine for electricity.has anybody got one of these and how much do they save you?thanks
Hi okorder
Q: Can solar panels be installed on ski resorts?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on ski resorts. In fact, many ski resorts have already started implementing solar energy systems to reduce their carbon footprint and lower their dependence on traditional energy sources. Solar panels can be mounted on rooftops, parking structures, or even on the ground near the resort area, providing clean and renewable energy to power various facilities and operations.
Q: Can solar panels be installed in areas with heavy snowfall?
Yes, solar panels can be installed in areas with heavy snowfall. However, it is important to consider the impact of snow on the performance and efficiency of the panels. Proper installation and orientation, along with regular snow removal, are necessary to ensure optimal energy production during snowy periods. Additionally, the use of tilt mounts or snow guards can help prevent snow buildup and improve the effectiveness of solar panels in such areas.
Q: I'm curious, for those who have had solar panels installed on the rooves of their houses:How much did you pay? How much energy do the panels produce? Did it dramatically cut down on your electricity bill? Was it worth it? Thanks!
Is an SUV worth it? I have passed many of them off in the ditch while my 2wd truck keeps going on icy roads. Unless you own a company and need the SUV it will never pay for itself. Is a huge house worth it? I can live in a 8X6 foot house perfectly well. Unless you rent rooms out in the large house it will never pay for itself. Solar panels are statements to others like a house or vehicle, except they will actually pay for themselves over many years. Don't expect to get rich off them, but look at it as doing your part to cut down on pollution, become more self sufficient or whatever. The exception is if you build a house far from the grid. A friend was quoted $40,000 per mile to install grid tied power to her house out in the woods. Solar panels paid for themselves the first year there.
Q: We have LED at the output of 40 watts and is used for 0 hours giving us 400 Watts-hr of energy consumed.Rechargable batteries needed are 2 V. 400/2 gives us 34 Ampere-hour battery needed. If we want it for 3 days, It would be 34x3=00 Ah. So the battery needed 00 AhNow how do I select the solar panel which can charge this/these batteries? What should be its rating?
First, you need to make sure that your battery can take a regular 34Ah discharge without damage. The usual wisdom when using deep cycle lead-acid batteries is to allow for no greater than 50% discharge. This is to prevent the battery from ageing prematurely. Note that automotive batteries are not usually considered suitable for deep-cycle applications. Best allow for at least 200Ah capacity. Your solar panel capacity needs to take into account that whatever the nameplate output of the panel, that will be what it will produce under ideal conditions, actual output will always be less, often quite a bit less. You also need to allow capacity to cope with dull, overcast days when the light level is very low. You can get solar maps that will give you the sunshine hours and irradiation levels at your location. The solar panel capacity ends up being a juggling act between available funds/space and how critical it is that the light always works as desired. Let's say you had a 400W panel, which sounds quite generous. In the middle of winter, it may produce only 75W for 5 hours on a dull day, not quite enough to run the light for 0 hours. Would you expect several such days in a row? How many days could a 00Ah of battery capacity cover under these conditions?
Q: thinking of getting a portable solar panel laptop charger...may be a stupid question but may be a very intelligent one as well ;)
small solar panels will produce some electricity under artificial light, but not nearly as much as in sunlight. Is that enough to charge your laptop? probably not, but you would have to try it to be certain. Of course you would have to orient it to get the maximum light, and that may not be possible in the tight confines of an airline seat. don't forget they dim the lights at night. Bottom line, won't work. Some aircraft have a connector to allow you to power (and charge) your laptop. It you have that, you need to get the right cable. .
Q: Has anyone had roof problems caused by rooftop solar panels?
Rooftop solar panels might cause all sorts of maintenance or poor installation problems but I rather doubt at this point if we can say that there is an issue with solar panels in general that will cause a problem with the roof. Rather solar panels tend to shade a roof on its most exposed side. Without solar panels southern facing roofs will wear out faster than northern facing roofs. Installed solar panels will tend to make the roof last longer.
Q: I purchased some small 3.6 v 70mA solar panels online. I have no experience with solar panels. I am confident of the layout of the parallel circuit I want to create, however I don't know how to properly connect the tabs that come from the sides of the panels. Any help on connecting them?
