Q: i recently got started with oil paint, and some of my tubes are leaking quite a bit. i seal the cap well, and there are no holes or anything in the tubes. i read that putting the tubes under extreme heat or sunlight can cause them to leak, but i do neither of these things.how do you prevent/solve this?
Leaking okorder /... Both of these prevent the dreaded twist and crack that can open up a hole where paint can both leak and be exposed to air. Also treat the caps gently. Make certain to routinely clean off the paint that biulds up around the threads. Wipe this off as opposed to allowing it to dry forcing you to remove it with harsher methods like scraping or using a solvent. Be conscious of the way the cap feels when tightening it on the threads. Sense whether it has derailed or whether the threads are clogged. Paint can build up on the tube threads and/or the threads inside the cap. These caps are fragile and often strip or crack. If a cap gets stuck and the tube body begins to twist while attempting to unscrew the cap run the cap end under hot water until it loosens up. Avoid twisting the tube body. It will tear apart. It is a good idea to save the good caps of old used tubes when they are ready to be trashed. They are not all interchangeable but they might be and it is worth having some around. Replacement caps are not sold by themselves but if you catch a bad cap on a new tube you may have a replacement sent to you by the manufacturer if purchased directly. You could try asking for a complete tube of paint replacement from retailers. I have done both successfully.
Q: PLZ ANSWER
depends on the use and application. would you prefer orange juice or lemon juice ? depends on your taste...... same thing. so it depens on many thing : cost, fluid to flow, medium temp, pressure, humidity, load type and so on .... good luck.
Q: Seems to me they could be half the size they are and would still be perfectly usable.
There are so many other problems in this world. Bigger ones. Plastic is plastic man. If the tube was half the size, that's half the stuff, so you'd buy twice as much. Same amount of plastic. More work in production. Pointless. *shrugs*
Q: What are the common diameters of oil line plastic tubes?
The common diameters of oil line plastic tubes typically range from 1/4 inch to 1 inch.
Q: Can plastic tubes be used for arts and crafts?
Yes, plastic tubes can definitely be used for arts and crafts. They can be cut, painted, glued, or decorated in various ways to create unique and imaginative projects. Some common uses include making jewelry, sculptures, or even as a base for constructing structures in mixed media art. Their versatility and availability make plastic tubes a popular choice for artists and crafters.
Q: Are plastic tubes safe for food and beverage applications?
Yes, plastic tubes can be safe for food and beverage applications. However, it is essential to use food-grade plastic materials that are approved by regulatory bodies and meet specific safety standards. It is also crucial to ensure proper cleaning and maintenance to avoid any potential contamination.
Q: What are plastic tubes used for?
Plastic tubes are used for a wide range of purposes such as packaging, plumbing, medical applications, electrical wiring, and even in manufacturing various products.
Q: I make models and the plastic that winds up in the trash could be reused if only I knew how to glue it. I have tried all of mine (401, epoxy, Loctite, Gorilla Glue, etc) to no avail.
I use E-6000 clear glue for almost everything. I am a sewer and needed some weights so I used this glue on huge metal washers putting two of them together for more weight. I have had these weights for quite a few years. The trick to this glue is to let is set. According to the label is it flexible, paintable, non-flammable, waterproof, safe for photographs, etc. I would suggest not using this in an enclosed area for any length of time. Good luck - Hope that helps.
Q: How do plastic tubes compare to rubber hoses in terms of flexibility?
Plastic tubes generally tend to be less flexible than rubber hoses.
Q: Can plastic tubes be used for cosmetic samples?
Yes, plastic tubes can be used for cosmetic samples.
