- What kind of alarm? Different alarm has different ways to disarm it. Some are done with the remote, some has a hidden switch. Some can be set to active or passive. Active is always On, when you take the key off the ignition and lock the car, the alarm senses it and arms itself. Passive, you always have to manualy press the remote to arm the alarm. Remove the battery again, wait about a few minutes, then connect again. Locate the switch (sometimes called valet switch) and press and hold it while you put key in ignition and turn it on (not start) wait for about 5 seconds and alarm will be turned off. If you want to permanently disable the alarm, then just remove the fuse for the alarm unit, just make sure it was not triggered before you do this, because if it was triggered then the kill switch is also active (on) and you wont be able to start your car.
