- Ok what you do to disarm the alarm is to take your car keys and lock the car closed from the trunklid by turning the key in the trunk lock all the way to the right so you can see your door locks close. That also turns off the alarm if its activated since the car knows that the rightful owner is back at the car. This is for the factory alarm, if you got a aftermarket one I don't know how to help you.

- If it is a factory alarm, try using the key in the door to lock or unlock the door. This usually will disable the alarm.If you have an aftermarket alarm system installed, you may want to look under the hood for an extra horn that is usually visible. The horn will have two wires usually one black and one red. You can cut the black wire to remove the ground circuit from the horn and the horn will stop blowing. However, you may want to keep in mind that with an aftermarket alarm system, it may be connected with the starting system on the car. So you may have problems there. Disconnecting the horn will only affect the horn and not the rest of the system. Hope this helps.

- Manual or automatic it should not make any difference to the alarm you fit. You will be able to buy a kit for manual cars. Be careful when buying your alarm there are some real cheap rubbish alarms out there. Do not but the cheapest you will regret it later.

- no. the 'stock' alarm system uses a multiplex unit to determine if the interior, engine compartment or trunk have been opened without the alarm first being shut off. their is no provision to add circuits to the multiplex to integrate new sensors into the decision making process. multiplex units use the same wire for multiple signals. you can't cut and splice into those lines arbitrarily or you'll disrupt the communications paths. hope that helps

- I have the iHome iP9 and for that for the alarm to go off you have to first press the number off alarm its on and then press it again and you should see and alarm icon. If it turns off press it again and it is a problem with the sond or something else. Hope that wasn't to confusing.

- If you see a tool bar icon that look like a Z.Then you see 2columns one is green and the other on is red.Then back to a Z in the tool bar then it is working. Also if you want to check to see if zone alarm is protecting you.You can do a google search for Shields up this is from Gibson research corporation(grc).And do a common port and all service ports.That should tell you what ports are open,close or stealth. Also earlier this month Microsoft release a patch for windows xp. That would turn off the stealth mode in zone alarm and you would have to set it to medium.Sence then zone alarm has release a fix for that problem.So i would go and check for the fix to zone alarm and download the fix and in zone alarm set it to stealth.Then surf the internet.
