 FAQ

1.    How do I decide which system is right for me ?

For protection from long outages, include a generator or solar panels in your Must solar system. Shorter outages can be handled by a battery-only system.

2.    Where my system will be installed ?

Must solar systems are usually wall-mounted near a home's main electrical (circuit breaker) panel.

3. How do I install my system ?

A must solar backup inverter is connected to a home electric system , we will supply detailed installation manual and videos for our customers .

How fast will my system respond to a power outage ?

Must solar inverters typically transfer to battery power in less than 16 milliseconds (less than 1/50th of a second).

What kind of batteries do the systems include ?

Must solar backup electric systems use special high-quality electric storage batteries.

Q: I have a 500 watt inverter and battery but need solar panels to run my need. I want to have enough juice to run a computer and monitor and sometimes a 5w amp. I am not sure how much power is needed to run the computer (standard desktop with 5flat screen with an additional surround sound system) though on the side of the computer it says 5 amp but I know I used to run it and monitor and surround sound with a heating blanket on the same circuit which was rated at 20 amps. My question is that I would like to go and buy some panels (cheaply as I'm unemployed) from somewhere like Harbor Freight that would meet the need of the converter to supply enough amperage. So what size panel(s) or panels would I need to run this setup? If I am correct I think 500 watts is equal to 5 amps. Would this even work? Could I run a partial system where I could run some of the stuff to take a load off? I need to lower my electric bill somehow. Thanks!
Solar okorder in their survival discussion in the archive, this exact project was discussed at length.
Q: Can solar panels be used for air conditioning?
Yes, solar panels can be used for air conditioning. By converting sunlight into electricity, solar panels can power air conditioning units, reducing reliance on the grid and providing a renewable energy solution for cooling purposes. However, the efficiency and capacity of solar panels may vary depending on factors such as the size of the system, available sunlight, and the energy demands of the air conditioning unit.
Q: Hi.How efficienent are solar panels? I mean, suppose we install a kw panel.. Wil it produce 5kw in 5 hours of good sun light?Or like if its 80 percent efficient, wil it produce 4kw and so on.Also, do the chinese solar panels give the same results as compared with panels from other countries?I live in india, so we get plenty of sunlight during the day. Thanks
The panels themselves efficiency are 5 to 8 percent at converting sun energy to electicity currently. But as what you said above, the conversion efficienc is about 70%,so a KW solar panel can produce 3.5KW in 5 hours,The solar panels of China are compared comparably to other contries. The highest efficiency of 24% is rare, they are not widely avaliable.
Q: Can solar panels be installed on a swimming pool?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a swimming pool. These panels can be used to heat the water in the pool, reducing the need for traditional heating methods and saving energy costs. Additionally, solar panels can also be used to power pool pumps and other equipment, making swimming pools more energy-efficient.
Q: i have a 2v 2a solar panel that i want to use to charge a 2v battery .Have found out that i need a charge controller so i don't over charge the battery.I have found a cheep one its 2v but 7a will it still work ?All-so im planing on running a 2v water pump off the battery with a timer, its for watering my garden. Will the timer have to be 2v as well ?any help on this would be greatly appreciated thanks .
The charger will accept whatever current is necessary from the solar panel up to 7A. It's not like the solar panel will force 2amps into the charger/battery -- the charger will control the current going to the battery. I question whether or not the 2V panel will actually charge the battery, though, because in order to charge a standard lead-acid 2V battery you need to have about 4.5 volts applied to the terminals. Perhaps the charger has a boost circuit -- I don't know without looking at it or knowing the brand/model number, etc. The timer must be 2VDC, but, if you only have a timer that is rated for 20VAC, you can buy a small inverter that will take 2V and supply the necessary 20VAC. An inverter rated for 20 to 50 Watts should be sufficient. These usually cost under US$25. .
Q: Can solar panels be used for powering outdoor events or festivals?
Yes, solar panels can definitely be used to power outdoor events or festivals. They are a sustainable and reliable source of energy that can provide electricity to run lights, sound systems, food stalls, charging stations, and other equipment needed for such events. Additionally, solar panels can be easily set up in open areas, making them ideal for powering outdoor gatherings without the need for grid electricity or noisy generators.
Q: Parents planning on buying some solar panels for our house down in Dubai it really hot there I'm currently living in Canada, anyways I'm wondering how many solar panels and volts ill need to light up a 2400sq ft. House? Please leave you're suggestions below!
It's not really the solar panels that power the house, they charge a battery bank and there's an inverter that jumps the battery power up to household current level. If you start getting into more expensive systems, they can sense when the batteries are full and start diverting power into the local electric grid. Some places the electric company is required to pay you for generating current, other places tell you tough luck. I suggest looking on OKorder or something at some of the home solar kits on sale there and look at how large a house they are rated for to get an idea of how big a system you're going to need. I don't know if you have access to the power bill history of the house you're getting in Dubai, but the power company there might be able to provide you with a history of average kW hours the house consumes. A 2400 sqft house with a gas stove and a gas water heater and wood heat is going to consume far less electricity than a house with all electric appliances and the consumption history of an individual house should reflect that so you can buy appropriately.
Q: How do solar panels impact the local job market?
Solar panels have a positive impact on the local job market as they create new employment opportunities in the renewable energy sector. The installation, maintenance, and manufacturing of solar panels require skilled workers, which leads to job growth and economic development in the community. Additionally, the transition to solar energy promotes a shift towards clean energy sources, attracting more investments and creating a sustainable job market for the future.
Q: Can solar panels be installed on mobile homes?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on mobile homes. Mobile homes have roofs that can accommodate solar panels and provide a suitable surface for installation. With proper mounting systems and a suitable solar panel setup, mobile homeowners can harness solar energy to power their homes and reduce their reliance on traditional energy sources.
Q: China is building solar panels and have been for years. That is the most abundant energy in the world. My nieghbor has two panels on his roof and he actually sells energy back to the electric company. These panels cost about $30,000. each, because we don't produce them here on that level. If we did, that price would drop drastically. Other alternatives are also available. Drilling for oil will no change anything. Once you give the oil companie the go ahead, the will focus on that and the alternatives won't be developed any farther. We will be right back here in about 0 years. The price will not go down anyway. So why not switch half of our fuel to alternatives?
Solar voltaic panels are not 30,000 dollars each, a good panel, 24.4Vmp, times 95 watts, is about 900 dollars. Solar electric generation, makes sense, not because of the myth that the energy transmission companies 'buy' the energy you produce in excess (energy companies, zero out the balance at the end of the year, so that it only makes sense to design a system that equals your needs, not exceeds them). Solar electrical generation, is the future of energy freedom, but the powers that be, do not have yours' and my economic freedom in their portfolio. They are actively pursuing the globalization, to push down the working class, to the 'post industrial age', where the working classes, can once again, be relegated to serfdom, while the super rich, drink DOM, and watch us toil in the sun.
