TC4708 FAQ
Q: What is tower crane?
A: Tower crane is a modern form of balance crane that consist of the same basic parts. Fixed to the ground on a concrete foundation (and sometimes attached to the sides of structures as well), tower cranes often give the best combination of height and lifting capacity and are used in the construction site.
Q: What is 3 main mechanism of the tower crane?
A: there are trolleying mechanism/ slewing mechanism/ hoisting mechanism.
Q: What can we do for the clients in the market and after-sale service?
A: There is branch office for us in the kingdom and she could provide any commercial assistance for the clients; our exclusive agent would fully represent lifting machinery for business communication and rapid & professional technical support.
- Q:so yeah i know that cranes do the main work but i guess there are no such really toll cranes to do that with skyscrapers ?
- That is a good answer. Ordinary cranes build the steel frame to a height of perhaps 60 feet. The frame is designed so a specially designed crane can climb up the side (like climbing a ladder) to about 50 feet where the climbing crane can complete the frame to about 100 feet, then the crane can climb to the 90 foot level and build the frame to about 150 feet etc. Another method is the floor at about the 60 foot level is completed and extra strong. A crane is assembled on that floor and can complete the steel frame to about 100 feet where another extra strong floor is built. The crane at 60 feet is then dismantled and moved to the floor at the 100 foot level, or perhaps this is a second crane. Repeat until the full height of the building is frame work. As cranes are removed at the lower levels, more floors can be installed and some of the finishing work done. Either way, you can see why very tall buildings are very expensive. Likely both methods are used for some very large and very tall buildings. Neil
- Q:Exactlly what type of bird is a crane?
- a water bird, from what i can tell......i know they have a special name, i just can`t think of it.....it was one of my vocabulary words this week.
- Q:I was wondering if anyone knows what period this book is set in? I know that it's set in the slums of New York and the story was published in 1893. But what time period does the story actually take place?
- I studied in in university - it's contemporary to when it was written, so it may as well be set in 1893. Crane was in his early 20's when he wrote it. He was addressing a societal issues of the day, particularly living in the slums of New York and the shift in American culture/economy from primarily agricultural to industrial. It addressed poverty, disaease, social ills and the dreariness of poor city life. The book was quite controversial when it first came out.
- Q:I watched a man climb one once and he wasn't secured. Crazy. How much do they get?If there are any operators on here, do you get scared when you climb up/down?
- 1. No need to be secured, the ladder inside the crane tower has many platforms. It's actually a heap of ladders and platforms not a single ladder. Usually the ladder is surrounded by a cage that would catch you if you fell. Once at the top there are handrails everywhere, you just make your way to the cabin. 2. Average here in Australia is about 1500 to 2000 non union and 2500 to 3000 union. 3. Not worried climbing but if there is a thunderstorm and you are in the cabin it can be scary 4. You shouldn't climb the crane when it's rainy as its all steel it is slippery if wet but sometimes it cannot be helped. You should wear non slip boots too
- Q:How to explain and classify the types of tower cranes? What do QTZ80 and Q5510 mean?
- This is only the tower crane in different periods of different naming:QTZ---- is the general saying in 80s of last century, Q means steel material (usually Q235), T is tower crane (mostly tower top type), Z indicates heightening method is self lifting,PT------ is the naming method in recent years.
- Q:How do they get big cranes up on skyscrapers for renovation? and how do they bring it down? And where they keep the cranes after done?
- Renovation of skyscrapers typically uses a crane, if it has one, that is built up the side of the building, resting on the ground but fastened to the frame periodically for bracing. Tower cranes are built in sections and assembled in place with smaller cranes. To a large extent, renovation of skyscrapers is done from the inside - modifying some of the existing elevators, rather than doing anything from the outside, breaking through the walls to get stuff inside.
- Q:my 7 year old son swears that a crane jumper is a type of animal...any one heard of this??
- I googled crane jumper and came up with nothing. Not to say there isn't such a creature, that could be a regional name for it, it might be called something else.
- Q:Hey i need to know what icabod crane did in sleepy hollow the tim burton version with johnny depp.. so far all i have is In the movie he is a detective or a constable, someone who tries to solve crimes. He stands up for what he believes in even though no one might stand up with him. He used instruments of his own kind. Any information will help..Thank you very much Thx again
- He fell in love while there. There were many murders while he was there. He used scientific instruments in a day and age when nobody else did. The town didn't like that about him; they blamed spells and curses. He looked into the crimes when nobody else would. They were too scared. It turns out that it was a headless horseman responsible for the crimes. There were a few witches in the movie.
- Q:Trying to find an estimated weight for a mobiles crane with a 5 tonne capacity ?
- If the crane HAS a 5-ton capacity, then to be able to estimate the weight you would need to know the length of its lifting arm at maximum extension w.r.t the C.G. of the body of the crane. So suppose we have an arm length of (say) 6 mtrs, then the max turning moment at the fulcrum (from front wheels of crane ? ) due to the Load alone = 5 x 6 = 30 You need to add the moment for the arm itself. Lets say the arm is around 1/2 ton. And its c.g. is approx 1/3 the distance from the fulcrum. Then this adds another = 1/2 * 1/3 *6 = 1 So total moment is 30 + 1 = 31 The body of the crane must be MORE than this. Suppose the C.G. of the crane is 2 meters behind the same fulcrum. Then weight of the body must be 31/ 2 = 15.5 tons. Lets say the weight is 16 tons. Then the TOTAL mobile cranes weight would be 16 (body) + 1/2 (arm) ~ 16.5 tons It all depends on the dimensions of the crane, and where the c.g. is located. If the crane has ballast added right at the back, then it's overall weight can be made less since it's c.g. would get shifted further away from the fulcrum
- Q:a 10 crane is moving across a frictionless surface at 4 m/s. if you wish to bring the crate to a stop, how much work would it need to do to dissipate all the kinetic energy?Physic
- What is a 10 crane? what is 3/s ? once you have numbers that mean something, plug them into the following equation Kinetic Energy in J if m is in kg and V is in m/s KE = ?mV?
