TC5010 FAQ
Q: Can you equip with light on tower crane jib, monitor, remote control and anemometer?
A: Sure. All of these could be provided with extra cost upon the clients’ requirements. But according to general practice, remote control is not suggested because most of the operator feedback operation in the cabin will provide a wide working view.
Q: What is 3 main mechanism of the tower crane?
A: there are trolleying mechanism/ slewing mechanism/ hoisting mechanism.
Q: What can we do for the clients in the market and after-sale service?
A: There is branch office for us in the kingdom and she could provide any commercial assistance for the clients; our exclusive agent would fully represent lifting machinery for business communication and rapid & professional technical support.
- Q: What makes a crane so strong?
- Cranes are built using a structural technique called a truss which is characterized by looking like a series of triangles connected together. That structure prevents the members from having to resist any bending loads. All of the truss members experience only tension and compression, no bending. That is an extremely efficient structure which is why they can be so strong without being monstrously heavy. Or if you prefer the short answer, engineers make the crane so strong.
- Q: are parts availble for shop crane? Hydraulic ram plunger o rings has split....need part?
- You okorder / and buy a whole new jack. I replace one with Northern about two years ago. I got one that pumps on the up, and down stroke. Works better than the original!
- Q: Hello, i am goin in on Dec 5 to write the millwright C of Q for the 3rd time. On the test there was a question that went something like this The crane is rated 40Ton, with a boom lenght of 40ft and at an angle of 70 deg. The jib is 8ft long on a 10 deg angle. What is the sefe working load. The numbers are not correct but that is how the question is phrased. Please help me with the formula. I cannot find it anywhere.
- Normally you would get a chart for that crane and you look up the SWL at the extension and angle you would want to use, but you can calculate this too. Basic formula; mass*distance = newmass*newdistance, in the case you have described you have to take into account that the distance is not the load arm as it is not at a right angle to the force the mass has and therefore you would have to work that out via trigonometry. Any clearer?
- Q: I need to draw an injured crane (the bird) with an arrow in its wing, lying on the ground...preferably with a splayed wing. How do I draw this? Sketches would help.Thanks.
- Shoot a crane with an arrow and take a picture. Life drawing and technology mesh well.
- Q: Cranes nowadays are MASSIVE! but something that has been bugging me for ages is how do they get the massive crane bit at the top down once they have finished constructing the skyscraper/building?
- After this the crew uses a mobile crane to assemble the jib and the machinery section, and places these horizontal members on an approximately 40 foot mast that consists of two mast sections. The mobile crane then adds the counter weights. The mast which is a large triangulated lattice structure typically 10 feet square then rises from this firm foundation. This triangulated structure gives the mast the strength to remain upright. The tower crane rises to its maximum height by using one mast section at a time, the crew uses a top climber that fits between the slewing unit and the top of the mast. This is done by hanging a weight on the jib to balance the counter weight. The crew then detaches the slewing unit from the top of the mast, this is done by using large hydraulic rams in the top climber to push the slewing unit up to 20 feet. The crane is then used to lift another 20 foot mast section into the gap opened by the climbing frame. Once bolted in place the crane gains a height of 20 feet. This process is reversed once the building is finished and its time to dismantle the crane and as stated earlier a smaller crane is used to dismantle the tower crane except the mast which is dismantled by the crane itself
- Q: How do they get the cranes and counterweights down off the top of buildings when finished?
- The cranes and counterweights aren't on top of the building. They are on the ground constructed with structural steel supports.
- Q: You see cranes on the floor which rise about 50 metres, but sometimes, when building high sky scrapers, I see cranes on the 70th floor or the 80th floor. How do they put the the crane so high up there when it can only go up high around 60-70 metres?
- these cranes are self raising. as they need to go higher they raise themselves up on hydraulic jacks and another section is bolted in the gap that is left. i hope this will answer your question
- Q: Formulas for calculating outrigger pad sizes, centre of gravity of loads, outrigger loadings
- If you are going to be operating a crane, you need to do this on your own. People's lives will depend on you having a good knowledge in this area. .
- Q: a 10 crane is moving across a frictionless surface at 4 m/s. if you wish to bring the crate to a stop, how much work would it need to do to dissipate all the kinetic energy?Physic
- If an object with mass 10kg is moving at x m/s it's Kinetic energy is ?mv? =?×10 kgm?/s? = 5x? Joules Example: 10kg @ 4m/s Ke = ? (10kg)× (4m/s)? = 80 Joules
- Q: I am writing a story for school about working in Dubai as a crane driver but I need to know what the purpose of a Crane driver is, how much they get payed and stuff like that. And if you could tell me how a crane driver can get admission in the first place, it would be really great. Thanx. And btw, this story is for Geography.Thank you. :)
- i am not a crane driver myself , but into this field of construction . get a licence as driver from authority just as a car driver. know how to drive the crane ad a driver know how to operate a crane as a operator. know the performance of the crane and its limits. the salary can vary depending on the type of crane and its special features. but not in the high end grade for sure unless its a very specialised crane operation. u can ask any thing more .
