- Q: I already have 864 cranes and I wanna know what kind of wishes can I make? And are there consequences? Can I wish something like my mom won the lottery and we become rich? (Just an example!)And can you wish for death? (Just a question!)
- You can make whatever wishes you want. Just remember that the wishes you make reflects what kind of person you are. So maybe you should make wishes you can be proud of. Also remember, if wishes were horses beggars would ride If you for example would wish that you would have $10, your wish is most likely to be fulfilled if you manage to sell each origami crane for 1 cent... Generally wishes come true if you really work for them, Not by sitting, doing nothing and wishing.
- Q: are parts availble for shop crane? Hydraulic ram plunger o rings has split....need part?
- What is the crane make and model? If you don't have the model of the crane you can stop by almost any hydraulic/hose shop, they should be able to match up the packings.

- Q: how dose a crane work
- If you can bend over and touch your toes, bend over just a little more and grasp your toes with both hands. Next, lift your toes as hard as you can. If you now reach the ceiling (don't try this outdoors!) cranes can lift themselves as you describe. If you are still on the floor you have your answer and even know how the forces are applied (internally) to the crane. Good luck!
- Q: i probably sound like an idiot asking this question :Pis it electricity? fossil fuel burning involved? pulleys? how does the pulley work? any human power involved? specifically, how is it stupid to lift a chair that can be lifted by a person, with a crane?
- Most cranes are diesel engine powered hydraulics and hydraulic motor. So that would be fossil fuel. Some cranes use pulleys to magnify the total lifting capacity. A pulley magnifies work by exchanging distance for lifting power. For example, to lift a 10 ton weight 20 feet in the air, if you put four pulleys in there so that 80 feet of cable would have to be pulled up , then it would only take 1/4 the amount of power to lift that 10 tons (2.5 ton lifting force would lift it) Look at any links or wikipedia for how compound pulleys work.

- The Whooping Crane (Grus americana) is a very large crane. It is the tallest North American bird and the only crane species found solely in North America. Adults are white; they have a red crown and a long, dark, pointed bill. They have long dark legs which trail behind in flight and a long neck that is kept straight in flight. Black wing tips can be seen in flight. Immature birds are pale brown. Their breeding habitat is muskeg; the only known nesting location is Wood Buffalo National Park in Canada and the surrounding area. They nest on the ground, usually on a raised area in a marsh. The female lays 1 to 3 eggs. Both parents feed the young. Usually no more than one young bird survives in a season. Loads more on Wikipedia (link below) - good luck
- Q: anyone can tell me the common steel tube material using for crane boom, both main chord and lattice boom. thanks !
- Steel, like you said, do you want an exact specification? That will vary by whether it is a very long and slender tall crane or a shorter heavy duty for considerable loads. It may even vary depending on whether the manufacturer has as a goal an extra light weight unit using more expensive stronger steel or is willing to use thicker walls to use more ordinary steel. That is what engineers are for.
- Q: My dad has some old tools and he is wondering if the company is still around, or what happened to it. A yahoo search revealed little.
- Found on - www.lathes .uk/boicecrane/ Boice-Crane - USA Boice-Crane (Wilton Division) made various types of power tools, including a selection of wood lathes intended for amateur and educational use, and in the 1940s and early 1950 their range included, amongst others, the two amateur and one professional or educational machines illustrated below. The more robust lathe of the amateur pair had a 50 inch long bed with 10 swing and able to take 34 between centres; the 4-step V pulley in the headstock could be driven from either from the rear, or underneath. The bed, which had a gap able to swing 14, was internally ribbed and machined on its top surface. The No. 1 Morse taper tailstock was fitted with self eject for the centre. The double-ended spindle was 1.25 inches in diameter and ran on ball bearings - whilst the single faceplate contained two different diameter, left and right-hand threads so that it could be screwed onto either end. The lathe weighed 115 lbs, so, despite an insubstantial appearance, must have been a reasonably robust machine. The other bench lathe had a bed built from two steel channel sections - with the most elementary type of headstock and tailstock. The capacity was 10 x 30, the weight 30 lbs and the headstock spindle carried a 4-step, overhung, V-belt pulley. The company are now: Gothenburg Manufacturing Co., P.O.
