Most timing belts can be done without lifting the engine. Lifting the engine involves a very long list of procedures before actually yanking it up even a few inches. You have to disconnect and support the transmission, drain coolant and fluids and disconnect the hoses and wires, remove the engine mount bolts, maybe pull the radiator out, disconnect the A/C system lines, and remove the tranny and oil cooler lines, the coolng fans, shroud, hood, and so on.
