- Q: How much money can you save by using solar panels?
- The amount of money you can save by using solar panels depends on various factors such as the size of your solar system, your energy usage, location, and the cost of electricity in your area. On average, homeowners can save anywhere from a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars annually. It's recommended to consult with a solar professional to get a personalized estimate based on your specific circumstances.
- Q: How do solar panels impact the aesthetics of a building?
- Solar panels can impact the aesthetics of a building in both positive and negative ways. On one hand, when designed and installed properly, solar panels can enhance the overall appearance of a building by giving it a modern and eco-friendly look. Additionally, the sleek and reflective surface of solar panels can add a visually appealing element to the design. On the other hand, some people may find the presence of solar panels on a building to be visually unappealing, especially if they disrupt the architectural harmony or contrast with the surrounding environment. Ultimately, the impact of solar panels on a building's aesthetics is subjective and depends on individual preferences and the integration of the panels into the overall design.
- Q: How often do solar panels need to be replaced or repaired roughly? Is it costly to do so?
- Solar Panel Maintenance
- Q: Lower solar panel/wind turbine prices allow wider applications, hence a great help to a greener mother earth!
- “the living feed the dead” -- may have actually lucked into the answer. The government does assist the petroleum industry and it funded the research that gave us nuclear power. If alternative energy is going to work, it may require intervention by the government in terms of access to land (imminent domain) and to the transmission grid. Alternative energy companies are stuck because of their own paranoia (of industrial espionage) and because they are being gouged by land owners. A single wind turbine on your land can net you $70,000 a year (plus a 0% increase per year for inflation), forever. Then there is the cost of the corridor to access the grid. Solar companies are trying to purchase land like drunken sailors – and landowners in areas where solar can be most effective (e.g., the American Southwest) are hip to what is going own. So when acquisition agents call to purchase land, owners are demanding outrageous prices (say $5,000/acre for land that is worth about $00/acre, otherwise). Then there is the fact that nobody (rich or poor) wants one in their backyard, not to mention the various PAVE (People Against Virtually Everything) groups who protest stuff just because they can. ===== A Modest Proposal -- <<0% inflation rate is an extremely high You are, of course, right. Nevertheless, that is what some Wind Energy companies are offering land owners as part of the lease agreement for placing turbines on their land. I agree it's outrageous, but I'm an environmental consultant for several Wind companies and I know what they are offering. As a side note. They were initally so lame (and this is related to their general paranoia) that they cut deals to place the turbines before they secured corridor access to substations. When they subsequently approached the land owners (the same ones with the turbines on their land) about the corridor, they were held hostage for outrageous money - as in millions of dollars - because by then the land owners had them over a barrel.
- Q: i am starting to consider getting solar panels instead of paying electric bills which are somewhat higher now than they used to be
- Depends on the size of the house and the average number of sunny days in your location, and how careful you are with your usage. Many houses too have solar panels that only provide part of the electricity needed. A medium sized house in a sunny climate might need a 4.0 kW system, which could mean6 x 250W solar panels,a roof area of 27 sq meters. The average energy use in a sunny country like Australia is 20 kW of electricity a day. To catch that much electricity on your roof you need a 4.0 kW system. In Australia you can buy reasonable quality systems for about $2 a watt (factoring in federal government rebates). This means a 4.0 kW system might cost $8,500. This is not cheap, so it makes sense to cut down your energy use first. :)
- Q: Can solar panels be used to power a disaster relief operation?
- Yes, solar panels can be used to power a disaster relief operation. Solar panels are a sustainable and reliable source of energy that can provide electricity in areas affected by natural disasters or other emergencies. They can be set up quickly and can generate power even in remote locations. Solar panels can be used to charge batteries, run communication systems, power medical equipment, provide lighting, and support other essential needs during disaster relief operations.
- Q: i'm making a small solar panel powered fan but it cant run the cellphone vibration motor even i have place two x2 solar panel.
- this type of solar panel has some few watts. Ah is a quantity (which represent energy) that define the flow of ampere for a period of hour. so, the max instant electric current is 40mA and the max power is 40mA x 3.6 = 0.44 watts but, this value depends of the solar ilumination which the panel is subjected.
- Q: I wanna start going green, you know like solar panels, wind turbines, etc. but where I live the companies that install the free solar panels in exchange for the subsidiaries aren't available. To start off I was just looking for a single panel I could drill into my roof and wire it to an outlet just for small thinks like charging my phone and a fan maybe. If anybody can understand my crazy idea please answer with links to where I can find these things. Thanks!
- That's okorder /
- Q: Can solar panels be used to power a satellite?
- Yes, solar panels can be used to power a satellite. Solar panels are commonly used in satellites to convert sunlight into electricity, which is then stored in batteries for use during periods when the satellite is not in direct sunlight. The efficiency and reliability of solar panels make them an ideal choice for powering satellites in space.
- Q: i really need to know howbecause im building a solar powered car for science fair :]thank you!
- Hehe, if you want to build your own solar panel that looks like what you see on buildings, etc, you will probably need to be a multi-millionaire. Here is a quote from the first link in my sources list: The high-efficiency solar cells you can buy at Radio Shack and other stores are made from highly processed silicon, and require huge factories, high temperatures, vacuum equipment, and lots of money. But fortunately for you, there is a cheap way to make a solar panel yourself (see first link). I love the scitoys website, but I am not quite familiar with this particular experiment. It looks like a science fair project in itself! It also doesn't appear to put out nearly enough power to run even a small solar car. What I would recommend is buying a compact solar panel from Radio Shack or some other electronics store that you may know of. Type in solar in to the Radio Shack search box. The first item on the list may be useful to you (the solar panel battery combo). I am just guessing, though, since I don't know any of your requirements (voltage output, power output, size, etc). Also, buyer beware. This particular product has a pretty bad customer review... but then again, I find that people are more inclined to leave a bad review than a good one. Good luck... -Ubi
