Q: I'm in Architecture school (want to be a developer and design my own projects).I'm currently working for a broker and planning on getting my broker's license as well.Is this a good way of getting experience towards getting a job at a Real Estate Development company after graduation?I have an associates in Real Estate and soon a Bachelors of architecture. In the future I might get an MBA in Finance. Is this a good plan or what do you recommend?
No... the real estate agent route will not get you there. In most states, getting a broker's license takes 3 years of being an RE agent, and it does not really help you in development projects... you will save the 3% on buying of the land and selling of the properties, but there are other ways to recoup those costs (just being an agent, or having a referral license come to mind. If you want to be a developer: work for a developer, if you are learning architecture, you hae skills they would need. Other options; engineering (civil) firms, City or county planners office, Large local utilities (gas/water/electricity) in their development office. Real estate management company might help also.... HUD... a bank that has real estate holdings...lots of options... RE broker is not one.
Q: I am still 17 years old, in my senior year of high school. I know you cannot take the liscense exam until you are 18 and must take courses. I am wondering if you can take courses whether that would be online or class courses, while you are 17? (my birthday is in may). I am going to college next year majoring in business with real estate emphasis, and minoring in international business. Any help or suggestions into becoming a sucessful agent and starting young will be great!Thank you
To get a California truly property license you have got to take the California Real Estate scan. It does no longer topic wherein you are living. There are many books on the way to go the California REal property examination. Do a google seek.
Q: to business there is marketing, accouting, economic, ect. How would you break real estate down like that? I want to start studing real estate at home, and I need to know what to study?
Real Estate as a business has all of the same functional areas as any other business. Marketing, finance, management, etc. I would suggest that how best to start a course of study depends on what the goal is. Do you want to become a Realtor? I am sure that the state has a licensing curriculum and authorized course providers. If you are studying to begin investment, there have been thousands of books written on the subject. Your area may have a Real Estate Investor Association (REIA) chapter and teaching is a large part of what they do. No doubt your local library has a plethora of information on the subject. That might be the best place to start. After all, its free, right? Good luck!
Q: i thought i'd ask in a different context...are real estate prices in boulder, co going down? if so, how much and for how long (in your opinion)? i looked at valuations at zillow and they seem to be all over the place...i'd love to hear from folks who are familiar with real estate prices in boulder proper. thanks!
According to a Real Estate broker's analysis in September of this year, the median price went from $513,750 to $548,000. However, there was a 25% increase in homes available on the market, without a commensurate increase in sales. So that at least is a sign for buyers. I also recall reading in the Rocky Mountain News (sorry, I don't think it's still online) that central-Boulder's 80302 and 80301 zip codes had gone up, while suburban and rural Boulder's 80303 and 80304 zip codes had gone down and stayed flat, respectively. That's from my memory so take it with a grain of salt. See the blog and blog entry below for more information.
Q: I am starting a new job this monday, as an "administrator" at a real estate firm. I have done some research about this industry, and the agency I will be working for (old family friends who just opened) have educated me and told me a lot of information, and I'm sure as the time goes on I will be exposed and learn more. I am seriously, in the future of thinking of becoming an agent. Please reply, and only real estate agents who are/or have been in the business (or people who do know about what it's like to be an agent)...your success stories, the pros and cons, is it true, as I have heard that agents can do extremely well? Please tell me everything. Thanks
Have your husband tell her (with you present), in no uncertain terms that she is not to call him regarding this transaction. It is distraction him at work. Have him let her know that from that point on YOU will be handling ALL of the information and decisions regarding this real estate endeavor. I'm curious, does your husband feel the same way about her as you do?? Has he told her to call him with questions? If he doesn't feel the same way, you should let him know who you are feeling. Be sure to approach this in a calm and non-accusatory manner. You don't want to have this woman be the catalyst to a fight. GOOD LUCK!!
Q: I know some real estate agents around, but, I don't have the first clue in what to do. I need some questions answered, like what are the first steps in becoming an agent? What kind of classes do i need to take? How many hours of classes? Mature answers only please.
First, this is probably a terrible time to go into real estate. The market is very weak, and the economy is not doing well. This will make it difficult for you to make a living. However, if you do want to go into real estate, the first step is to get your license. For that, you have to take a course and pass an exam. There are usually a number of courses advertised in your local paper, but if you want to make sure you're getting a good program, talk to someone at the Board of Realtors in your local area. After you pass the exam, the next step is for you to interview a series of real estate companies, to see if you want to work with them. Since it's all paid on commission, you can pretty much choose whichever one you want.
Q: Do I need to go to college to do real estate.Like I'm gonna buy a house , make it better , and sell for more profit.
there are people with college degrees who flip houses for a living. However, you do not need a college degree to do this job. People made lots of money doing this when the real estate market was hot. But it's a lot harder today with houses sitting on the market for months on end, with the overhead expenses racking up.
Q: I live in texas and am interested in becoming a real estate agent, does anyone know what getting your license consits of? How long are the classes, how much about do they cost? Where can i take them? Do they offer them at community colleges? I've also seen some job postings that say a real estate company will hire you and help you get your license, what does this mean? That they will pay for it? Thanks!
I went through online classes with Champion School of Real Estate. It ook me about 4 months working part-time. I took the test and passed on the first try, but it takes many people two or three tries. Real Estate is expensive. It is not a JOB - you are on your own. You must get a broker to sponsor you. You pay them for insurance, office space, etc.
Q: real-estate
Almost every major real estate decision you'll ever be faced with will involve math in some form or another. The less competent you are with math, the less able you'll be to make a good decision.
Q: Which is better? Please don't get all technical like saying "Your question is wrong, none are better" I need a clear answer. I'm leaning towards real estate because I barely know anything about stocks, I just want to get rich. I'm 15 years old. Thanks!
The US markets present returns within the variety of 6to eight%. Stocks: Try making an investment within the establishing markets....China and India are each correcting with international markets and ....its decide on up time. Over the final 50 years Stocks have furnished the satisfactory returns over different investments; nevertheless, bear in mind the enron debacle. You have extra manipulate in Real Estate.
