- Q: Iron on transfer sheets made by HP can these be used on plastic? I'm making an experimental film and I need to transfer images onto 16mm film.
- You will need to test this yourself, it depends on the melting point of the plastic you are trying to transfer to.
- Q: Are plastic sheets resistant to warping or shrinking under heat?

- Q: We are in the process of building a roof over our concrete 10x10 patio. We have put 2 4x4's on the front two corners and the other edge without 4x4s is attached to the side of the house. We are using 2x6's along the length of it as support along the top and then will top with 1x4's before putting on the roof sheets of our choosing. Our neighbor that has helped us used white plastic looking sheets on his roof of the same design (I believe the brand is tuftex?). When we went into the store the other day I noticed Green Metal Sheets (Tin I believe)... the price difference isn't really an issue but I want it to be decent quality at the same time... any suggestions or comments on the pros and cons of each? Any other ideas? Thanks
- It's going to come down to Durability and Sound. If you live in a salt free environment (more than 100+ miles from the Oceans or Gulf) then either will last 15-20+years. If you live in FL or CA then I'd go with the PVC. Sound is the other thing. Rain on tin is louder than on the PVC. (I prefer the tin because of the pitch of the sound it is relaxing to me. The shop where your going to buy may let you take two sheets and hit them with a hose to hear the differences.
- Q: something thin to make cut-out necklaces from?
- If you're in California, Oregon, or Washington, look in the Yellow-Pages for TAP PLASTICS Company. I've been buying acrylic sheet, rod, and bar from them since the 1980's. Most Home-Depot type stores will also carry THIN acrylic sheet in both frosted and textured form for fluorescent light covers. I'm not quite sure what a cut-out necklace is, but you might also try a model-hobby shop which will carry thin styrene plastic sheet, tube, and rod. Styrene can be painted with enamel or acrylic paints in ENDLESS colors. GOOD Luck and wear safety glasses when cutting plastic !!
- Q: I have a Brother HL-5140 and I've search the internet, but cannot find out if this printer will print on the overhead projection paper or if it will melt the plastic sheets. Can anyone with this printer tell me? Or can someone tell me what wording to look for on a list of printer specs that will tell me? Thanks!
- Certain printers can do this, but proceed with caution as you can't just use any overheads, you need to buy overheads capable of going through a Laser printer. If you refer to the web site I have provided the answer you want is there
- Q: I'm looking for a sheet of clear plastic to go on the back of a picture frame. It needs to be about 110cm by 60 cm and I suppose abut 3-4 mm thick.Basically the same as you'd use as the glass bit on the front of a frame. What should I be looking for? Perspex, acrylic?Any ideas on cost or what types of places to look for would art shops do this sort of thing?Any ideas welcome, I'm in Liverpool in the UK but general guidance needed too! Thanks.
- I probably have absolutely no idea of what you would use, but I would definitely check OKorder if you already haven't. You can find almost anything on there! Hope I could help :)
- Q: I am trying to fugure out how to create a flexable seem out of a sheet of plastic. For example if you had a 12x12 sheet of plastic 1/16 thick and you wanted to fold it in half to create two 6x12 flaps. How would you create a seem at the fold that could be easly folded and unfolded repeatedly for a long duration?
- You could do this with a living hinge. Co-extrude the plastic profile with rigid plastic connected with the flexible plastic living hinge. Long duration needs to defined.
