Press fitting system joins pipe without welding or bolting. The components fit by crimping through the use of a special pressing tool. An O-ring that is inserted in the fitting ends of the pipe ensures a leak-proof connection. Press fitting system is the trend of pipeline industry. It is widely used in cold and hot water supply, heating supply, fire protection, medicinal gas, industrial petroleum pipeline system etc.
For the size, now we have 3 series:
1. Out diameters: 16.0, 20.0, 25.4, 32.0, 40.0, 50.8, 63.5, 76.1, 88.9, 108.0 (GB/T 19228.2-2011)
2. Out diameters: 15.88, 22.22, 28.58, 34.0, 42.7, 48.6, 76.1, 88.9, 101.6 (JIS G3448-1980)

- Q: Hi there..I'm a gap year student going off for volunteer work in Luang Prabang, Laos in November. - A picture would help. But if you are talking about a Bronze P-trap pipe being corroded then I think I can help. There are two options if all that is bad are the threads then you can cut that off the old P-trap and replace it with a P-trap that uses compression fittings. IF the Bronze P-trap pipe is too bad off usually you will find that there is also a large copper pipe it is soldered too. What I do is cut off the old Bronze P-trap at the copper piece. If you can, remove the Bronze piece from the copper pipe with a torch. I like to do this when possible but it is not mandatory. Clean up what ever you have left and use a compression replacement P-trap. I use PVC. They last longer. I can't see what you see so if this is not helpful then a picture would help us better answer this question.

- Q: I've never tested my fire alarm (yes I know i'm stupid) but i'm going to get in the habit of testing it each week. My fire alarm was making a strange chirping noise every so often so I changed the battery and its still chirping. - The water resistant, blue colored, glue is safe for water pipes for humans, so should be safe for the fish. Just give it extra cure time so it drys completely and use the smallest amount that you can to reduce exposure. Since you will be gluing it outside the pond, go ahead and run some fresh water through it after it has set up.
- Q: i am repairing a busted line with a compression fitting. I am missing the sleeve of the compression fitting that goes into the pipe.what can i do other than buy another one to repair this line without the sleeve? I already have the fitting on the other part of the line so I don't want to change anything, just fix what's there
