Q: Solar panel experiment ?wat are some experiments with solar panels that has not yet been proven? ideas

Q: I'm thinking of having solar panels to generate electricity. The drawbacks are that I'm afraid if it needs repair, I won't be able to find anyone. Also I'm afraid that the roof is not very accessible. If it is a new house, should the roof have a roof hatch? What can make the system not work?
Modern solar electric panels rarely fail. Because of this, if you would be installing them over a roof that only has a few years left on it, it would be better to redo the roof, first. In the unlikely event that a panel needs to be changed, this can be done in 30 minutes or so, because the panels are mounted on racks, with everything simply plugging together. I have never personally seen a solar installation go bad, but from what I hear, the inverter (a box that goes in next to your electric service panel) is usually what burns out after 5 years, assuming the install was done right in the first place. If you were to call roofers to repair your roof, they would somehow be able to get to your roof, by ladders, or a special truck. Solar installers use the same kind of equipment. They won't have a problem getting up there. A solar electric system is actually a very straightforward thing. No matter who installs it, if there is a problem, another installer should be able to diagnose and fix it.
Q: Can solar panels be installed on outdoor lighting fixtures?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on outdoor lighting fixtures. Solar-powered outdoor lighting fixtures often have built-in solar panels that convert sunlight into electricity to power the lights. This eliminates the need for wiring and allows for more flexibility in installation locations.
Q: What is the principle of solar panels work?
light - heat - electric conversion method through the use of solar radiation generated by thermal energy, usually by the solar collector will absorb the heat into the refrigerant refrigerant, and then drive the turbine power generation. The previous process is the light-heat conversion process; the latter process is the thermo-electrical conversion process.
Q: Can solar panels be used for powering outdoor signage?
Yes, solar panels can be used for powering outdoor signage. Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity, making them an eco-friendly and cost-effective solution for outdoor signage that is not connected to the grid.
Q: Was at home depot today and a Solar City sales man came up to me, offering me free solar panels. He said he could install them on my garage for free, free installation, free panels. Promised me it wouldn't cost me a dime. This is obviously appealing to someone like me who has a $200.00 monthly electrical bill. Now my question is this. Is this a scam? Are there ANY hidden fees or things I should be weary of?- I understand I may not save tons of money, but if I can save even something as low as $20 a month I would be happy. I live in a sunny area and they seem very interested in my garage roof. Any information would be super-helpful, thank you.
What that means is free, considering the cost of electricity saved, i.e., no additional out-of-pocket costs. It could still be a good deal. For example, your bill is now $200 a month. Maybe the solar drops your bill to $40 a month, and you pay $50 a month to SolarCity for the duration of the lease. One thing to remember, though is that only works if your bill drops to $50 a month or less. If the panels don't produce enough, you may end up paying a $60 electric bill, and still $50 to Solar City, for the duration of the lease. They will also count on getting your federal tax credit, so I don't know how that works into the price. Also, they must make money as a leaseholder or financer, so it shouldn't be as good a deal as simply installing panels and paying for the whole thing up front. We installed solar electric in 2006, and it's still working great. If I had to do it over again, I think I'd get solar hot water first, though.
Q: what are the main minerals that are used in making solar panels. and where in the world are those minrelas usually found
Heating panels have aluminum for the frame, glass for the top, copper pipes running through them, and possibly some plastic parts. The raw materials are easily obtained. Copper is the most difficult to get probably, but it's not all that rare, since we used to make pennies out of it. A solar electric panel is similar, with the copper used for wires and interconnect instead of pipes. The actual solar cells commonly used are almost completely pure silicon, which is abundant worldwide. There are traces of other elements in the silicon like boron, arsenic or phosphorous - these are also inexpensive, and easy to get.
Q: Interested to know if it is possible to install Solar Panels to run my Jacuzzi?Don't want to do the whole house just the jacuzzi anybody have any ideas Thanks
You can do this by isolating the jacuzzi, you will need a solar array adequate for the power draw of the jacuzzi, a charge controller, battery bank, off-grid inverter and switch gear. This is the expensive way to go--especially if you are planning to heat the water with the solar. A better option would be to heat the jacuzzi with solar thermal panels. It is plumbing instead of electrical, but the cost would be much less. If you still want to do PV (electric) solar, think about putting a non-isolated grid-tie solar array on your home. They are much cheaper, and if you think about it, it really does not matter if you use the solar electricity to run a light, a fridge, a TV, or a Jacuzzi, that amount of power is subtracted from your overall house power bill. Just size the array for the power output of the jacuzzi, and let the power meter do the rest. Your overall result will be the same and the system will be half the price, or less.
Q: Can solar panels be installed on a theater or entertainment venue?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a theater or entertainment venue. In fact, many theaters and entertainment venues have started adopting solar energy solutions to reduce their carbon footprint and save on energy costs. The large roof spaces found on these buildings often provide ample space for solar panel installations, allowing them to generate clean electricity and contribute to a greener and more sustainable future.
Q: What's your opinion on solar power? More specifically, having panels installed on your roof to reduce your electric bill. I'm having a consultation tomorrow to get more details. I live in the SW, so it's always crazy sunny here. I don't know what the cost will be yet. Is it something you'd consider if the situation was right? If not, why?
You dont say where you live? you need to consider average sunshine hours. There are some sites on the net that will work out for you what percentage of nameplate capacity you could expect to receive for different areas. Usually the capital cost wont be paid off for at least ten years, so money wise you would do much better by investing the cash. I once asked a guy (climate warmer) whether his solar panels had paid off or would do in the future, his answer was no but it was the right thing to do morally.
