- It's not your income, but the tax you pay. This is a NON refundable credit. You won't see a difference unless you actually owe tax. If you are retired and living on social security and savings, you don't pay tax, so you'd get $0 from the solar panels. If you are married, have a bunch of kids and get a refund of all money withheld anyway, you'd get $0 from the solar panels. If you currently average, say $200 in actual income tax, your $2,000 investment would create a $3600 tax credit, but you'd only get back $200 the first year. (This would reduce the tax bill, increasing any refund of money already withheld to pay that tax bill.) The remaining amount would carry forward to 202. You can keep carrying it forward as long as the credit is available (I think that's currently 206). Get your 200 return out and get form 5695 and run the numbers. Edit, ignore TRO. - well... I'm not sure how you can make a solar panel that you can store electricity off of. But a simple solar panel is... Take a pane of class a bunch of pop cans and a fan... color the bottoms of the pop cans black and attach them to a board of some sort (black side up) put the pane of glass over the cans (with about 5 inches of space between) and put the fan blowing away from the cans you can set this in a window that gets lots of sun and it will use the solar energy to heat your house (its pretty efficient and warm)

- well the main problem is that the the solar panels are ineffecent due to their 5 lays(that is what i hunrd they are useing in Gemrnay). Also if i remember right we are at a 20% conversion rate on solor panels. their is 2 problems with solar panels. the weather they drom in effeceny everytime the a cloud get in the way of the sun. what are u doing to do when it gets dusk time? tho neucler power is a good idea. it is only good for the Base load not for the peek power times... IE; Quiting time when everyone gets home and flips on the AC. The best thing really would be Geothormal, nucluer, wind and some solor. but that is for the west out word.. the south is still SOL. So they would need bio fules, better coal plants and fuel cells. (witch is where i am going to start working on here soon )

- You want the panels facing south because that is where they would get the most sunlight throughout the day. If your front door is facing north, then the back of your house would be facing south, right? So put them up in the back where they are facing south...haha wtf..
