- Q: How can I determine the size of solar panel system I need?
- To determine the size of the solar panel system you need, you should consider factors such as your energy consumption, available roof space, and geographical location. Start by analyzing your average monthly electricity usage to estimate the amount of energy your solar panels should produce. Next, assess your roof's orientation, tilt, and shading to make sure it can accommodate the necessary number of panels. Lastly, consider your location's sunlight hours and climate conditions, as they affect the efficiency and output of solar panels. Consulting with a professional solar installer can also help you accurately determine the size of the solar panel system you need.
- Q: Can solar panels be used in areas with high levels of air turbulence or strong winds?
- Yes, solar panels can be used in areas with high levels of air turbulence or strong winds. However, it is important to ensure that the solar panel installation is designed to withstand such conditions. Proper anchoring and mounting systems, as well as reinforced frames, can help secure the panels and prevent damage or displacement due to wind forces. Additionally, selecting wind-resistant solar panel models can further enhance their performance and durability in such environments.
- Q: Hey guys :)Well I'm in the middle of doing my PSHCE coursework on sustainable energy, focusing on solar panels. I just wanted to ask you what your opinions are of them? Are they really worth it? Are they sustainable? Will they reduce our energy bills? Those sort of questions :)If you are interested in installing solar panels, please mention that, as it would be great! There's lots of information about them on this site ----
- I have a boat in a sunny place and four 80 watt panels. These will run my fridge Tv and a few LED's. I still have to run my engine for hot water and washing machine. My Batteries only last a few years and are a real pain. I go on the mains when I can to get the batteries topped up. The panels are ok if there is nothing else, they are not the answer to the future of energy supply. There is also the moral aspect of the feed in tariff. For the rich to load their electricity bill onto the less well off is not acceptable and those panels on the roof tell all your neighbors that you are doing it. That will show a greedy selfish attitude. If they are any good why don't the power companies buy them and save buying coal?
- Q: Can solar panels be installed on government buildings?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on government buildings. In fact, many governments around the world are actively promoting the adoption of renewable energy sources, including solar power, in their buildings to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainability. Installing solar panels on government buildings not only helps in reducing energy costs but also sets an example for the public and encourages wider adoption of renewable energy.
- Q: i attached a usb charger to my solar panel(it has an output of about .2 volts) but i read on my multimeter its only using about 8 volts however on the conventional wall charger that i use to charge it has an output of about 5. volts.... i believe that my mp3 player is not charging it does not display the charging icon when it is on or off ....is this becuase the output is higher ? do i need to install a volt dropping diode to prevent it from putting to much energy at once? (my mp3 charges fine on the wall charger but does not seem to respond to the solar panel so it the circuits are fine....)
- 5.3V is the open voltage or? So the full wattage of the photograph voltaic panel is 45W or so? i assume you are able to no longer make all your small A/C home equipment into DC ones. so which you would be able to think of bearing directly to the 2V DC enter 00W inverter. this type of inverter might have a some bit extensive enter voltage variety from like V-20V some situations.
- Q: will at least consider them for their home electricity? I've seen several articles that new technologies are now being used, but it doesn't seem to be promoted to residential apps. I've even seen that the solar technology will be used in paints in the near future.
- Solar panels are cost effective if they are used over their payback period. The problem is that the down payment is expensive, and the payback period is maybe 0-20 years, so very few people actually expect to own their homes for 0-20 years. It also only really makes sense in areas that buy back electricity generated during the day when you're not using it. In Germany and other european countries, power companies are required to buy back electricity at a higher price than they sell it for--this reduces the payback period and is a great incentive for solar panels. For this reason, they are much more popular over there. Given a little time for the price to fall and given some change in energy policy, solar panels will become more cost effective in the future. Depends on who gets elected, though. There is a solution to the payback period problem, though. Rather than homeowners taking on the long payback period in homes they may not own long enough, some companies are buying panels and leasing them to homeowners. In exchange, homeowners get reduced electric bills, that pay off the lease payments, plus a little extra. I think this is the way to go. check out the link below.
- Q: I paid for an appraisal and the home was valued at $25,000. The problem I have with this is my house is equipped with solar panels. I paid about $25000 for them. A comparable house sold for $225,000 4 months ago. Same amount of rooms, bathrooms, square feet, lot size and curb appeal (landscaping). But no solar panels. Home prices in my neighborhood have also gone up. I would like to know if there is any way I can dispute this as I feel I just wasted a lot of money on a incorrect appraisal.
- Zillow appraisal is useless and not at all important. If you are selling your home then the solar installation should give you some advantage, depending on how much you are still paying for utilities. The only appraisal that matters is the one a buyer gets to lock in a mortgage. Nothing else matters.
- Q: This is for my science project and i cannot figure it outWe assumed that blue light shining on a solar panel would give off the higher volt reading because it has the shortest wavelength and the highest energy, but it was actually the lowest. Why does this happen? Im very confused And cant find the answer anywhere.... ,thank you!!
- Surely the highest volt reading will result from the wave with the largest amplitude, wavelength irrespective? You'd need to know the amplitude of the wave AFTER leaving the colour filter, since different chemicals and pigments in the filter would naturally affect the resulting wave in different ways.
- Q: How do solar panels affect roof weight load?
- Solar panels can increase the weight load on a roof, but modern solar panel systems are designed to distribute the weight evenly and not exceed the load capacity of the roof.
- Q: Are there any risks associated with solar panel installation?
- Yes, there are a few risks associated with solar panel installation. Some potential risks include the risk of falling during installation, electrical shock or fire hazards if not installed correctly, potential damage to the roof during installation, and the risk of panels not performing as expected due to factors like shading or poor maintenance. However, these risks can be minimized by hiring a professional installer, following safety guidelines, and ensuring proper maintenance and monitoring of the solar panel system.
