- Q: Can solar panels be installed on a residential community or housing development?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on a residential community or housing development. In fact, many residential communities and housing developments are incorporating solar panels as a sustainable and cost-effective energy solution. Installing solar panels on rooftops or open spaces within the community can generate clean energy, reduce electricity bills, and contribute to a greener environment.
- Q: Can solar panels be installed on a golf course or clubhouse?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on a golf course or clubhouse. They can be mounted on rooftops, carports, or even on the ground in open areas of the golf course. Installing solar panels can help generate clean and renewable energy while reducing electricity costs for the facility.
- Q: 200 watt solar panel generates how much watts of electricity per month?
- I've operated a 25 kilowatt (kw) solar panel system for two years (44 panels, rated at 90 watts each, just about like yours). It averages 0 kilowatt hours (kwh) per day, but clear days get about 60 kwh. My system generates about 3300 kwh per month (we dump directly to grid), worth about $4,000 per year. Payback for my system, which cost $00,000 (after utility rebates and tax credits), is 25 years (the expected lifetime, coincidentally). Under similar conditions, your 200 watt solar panel would average 820 watt-hours per day, or about 25 kwh per month, worth $2.50.
- Q: I am wondering how to store energy from a solar panel
- If you are buying a kit, chances are there is an instruction manual in there on how to mount your solar panels. You can also ask for assistance from the store.
- Q: Can solar panels be used to power a data center?
- Yes, solar panels can be used to power a data center. By installing a sufficient number of solar panels, the energy generated from sunlight can be harnessed and converted into electricity to power the data center's operations. However, the feasibility of solely relying on solar power depends on factors such as the size of the data center, energy requirements, geographical location, and sunlight availability. To ensure a consistent power supply, additional energy storage systems or backup sources may be needed.
- Q: How much would solar panels cost for: A Cell phoneA average houseA car
- They would cost quite a bit but the user would likely be eligible for some energy credits from the power company and their cell phone carrier which would bring down the costs
- Q: Okay so.. if light deflect the light of the sun and black absorbs it, then aren't solar panels just absorbing more light, sun and heat into our atmosphere? Wouldn't this lead to an increase in global warming? Shouldn't solar panals be white? No rude answers please.
- There are two basic types of solar panels. ) Thermal absorbers 2) Photovoltaics Thermal absorbers are black in order to convert sunlight to thermal (heat) energy. The whole idea is to capture all of the light with a dark surface, convert it to thermal energy and transfer the energy into your home for water heating or space heating. If you make the surface white or reflective, then the surface will absorb only a small fraction of the available light, hence the efficiency will be very low. In other words, the panel will not produce any heat. Photovoltaic panels produce electricity instead of heat energy. Photovoltaic panels are made from thin slices (“waffers”) of silicon with special coatings on the front and back surface. One of these coatings on the front is an antireflection coating to capture the light and channel it toward the silicon. Underneath the antireflection coating the silicon waffer is coated with other chemicals that convert the sunlight to electricity. The combination of these coatings gives the panel a dark color, usually blue or black. Here's the bottom line. If you want thermal heat or electricity from solar panels, the panels have to capture the light. When that light is captured, the surface appears dark because no light (or very little) light is reflected back to our eyes. It is not possible for a surface to be an efficient absorber, capturing all available light, and at the same time appear white or bright color or reflective to our eyes.
- Q: Me and my wife just saw an ad on TV about going solar and saw the money we can save every month... any here have solar panels? How much do you save every month on energy bill? Is it true that your energy meter will spin backwards? lol
- Yes, it can save money, but really depends on your individual situation. There are three main factors - how much sun you get, how much electricity you use, and how much electricity costs locally. We have solar, and the meter does spin backwards. Actually, it's a digital meter, so it counts down instead of up. The system covers essentially all our electrical usage over the year, and our electric bill is about $5 a month, because of minimum charges by the electric company. That shouldn't be used as a comparison to your situation, though, since every house is different.

- Q: I have four power packs for solar lights. They have 3 AA .2volt batteries of 2450 mAh capacity installed in series for a total supply voltage of 4 volt maximum for the lights. I want to charge all four packs at once off a single 6 volt solar panel. With the four packs wired in parallel, what capacity output (wattage) panel do I need to charge the batteries in an 8 hour day?
- 3 cells in series makes a 3.6volt 2.4AH battery. You multiply the volts but not the capacity. In parallel would be .2volts, triple capacity. So 4 packs in parallel is 9.8AH. Rule of thumb for charging a flat battery is divide capacity by 0 for amps and charge for 5 hours. amp at 6 volts is doable, that would be 6 watts People who make batteries and solar cells usually over-rate them so I doubt that a solar panel of less than 20 watts rating will fully charge these batteries if they are flat. I'd google to see how you might control the charge current with a simple circuit.
