Q: How long do plastic sheets last?
The lifespan of plastic sheets varies depending on various factors such as the type of plastic, the quality of the sheet, and the conditions they are exposed to. Generally, plastic sheets can last for several years to several decades. However, with proper care and maintenance, some high-quality plastic sheets can last even longer.
Q: I want to build a faster oven for drying plastic sheets. I currently us an 8'x8' low temp gas oven but need to dry more material faster. I've seen info on a woodworker that built a Microwave dryer for large wood projects and wonder if the same technology can be used to dry plastic. A major concern of course is containing the microwave radiation. I'm open to any safe ideas.
It can be done, and done safely, although microwaves might not be the best source of energy for that particular application. Radio frequency energy might be a better choice. Unfortunately, this forum isn't really the best place for a detailed discussion. Click the source link below and feel free to make contact.
Q: Can plastic sheets be used for picture frame protectors?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used as picture frame protectors. They provide a clear and protective barrier that helps prevent damage to the picture or artwork from dust, moisture, and other elements.
Q: Hi, I have a CD with the plastic sheet of cd (the side usually with designs on it) torn and some parts missing. Will my data be affected? Any remedy to salvage my CD?
If its torn and some parts are missing, the underside very well could be damaged. The only hope is to try it out on a cd reader. If your data is damaged, I'm not sure what to do....try repairing it with a CD Cleaner......but I don't know that will fix it for sure. If its gouged, theres no hope for saving data.
Q: Can plastic sheets be used for picture frame backing?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used for picture frame backing. They are commonly used as an alternative to traditional cardboard or foam board backing due to their durability and resistance to moisture. Plastic sheets such as acrylic or polystyrene can provide a protective layer for the artwork while maintaining a lightweight and transparent appearance.
Q: Can plastic sheets be used for safety glazing?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used for safety glazing. They offer shatter-resistant properties and are commonly used in applications like windows, doors, and skylights to provide an added layer of protection.
Q: i am working on an art project and I am wondering if there is a crafty type way for me to transfer the typed text from one sheet of paper to another (like to lift the ink off the paper somehow). I am not concerned about the words being recognizable or readable, I just like the aesthetic of words that don't necessarily mean anything mixed with pictures. thanks!
It's called a photocopier. Photocopy the page onto a sheet of transparent plastic. Then lay the plastic over the new sheet where you want the letters to appear. If you don't want the plastic, the process is trickier. It still can be done. Photocopy the page onto plastic as before. Then lay the photocopied plastic sheet reversed on the photocopying glass. Copy onto a piece of paper. The result will be a sheet of paper with the letters reversed. Since photocopiers use toner that is baked onto the page, you need to take the sheet with reverse lettering and iron (using a hot iron) the reversed lettering onto the page you want it to appear. Since you are reversing a reversal, the result will be correct left-to-right. It might take several tries to get the technique down right, but it is do-able. Whether it is worth it, you'll have to determine.
Q: Toilet melamine partition board, plastic partition board how much is one square metre?
