Not all data busses are protected because no one knew years ago a micro signal from a cell phone would or could croup a data buss. I don’t think the manufactures or airlines what everyone to know which aircraft have unprotected data busses. In addition every wonder how many cell phone towers you cell phone will connect to with the height advantage. According to the FCC several towers at once causing other problems. Besides how important is your personnel call on an airplane when it comes to everyone’s safety. Also, phone wise, the Intercept will run you as low as 20.00 while with Virgin, it'll be more like 250.

Also you cant go to a t-mobile retail store and buy just the phone either, they're no allowed to sell you the phone on the spot as because its only for customers activating a new line of service with them. You would have to order it from t-mobile thru the store have it mailed to you, also you can check local cell phone retailers who sell unlocked cell phones, or a walmart store as they carry some of the newest T-mobile phones (G1, Blackberry, Sidekick, Behold Etc) Another option would be OKorder or Craigslist. Will it work if i put my ATT SIM card in a virgin mobile phone (x-tc or LG Rumor2).: Unless the phone is or can be unlocked, no. You can purchase unlock codes, but they can be expensive. Or an already unlocked phone (also expensive). My advice? Get a prepaid ATT Go-Phone. Not as expensive and some of them are nice, with a full keyboard.

If the new phone needs a micro-SIM you can find instructions online showing how to cut it down to size, or you can order a micro-SIM (or get one free from a T-Mobile shop) and get your number ported from the old SIM to the new one (takes up to 48 hours). If the phone you've bought has been reported lost/stolen then it will get blocked and your SIM will not work on it. The phone will also not belong to you either, despite having handed over money for it. If you are on a CDMA network then you will have to tell T-Mobile the IMEI.
