Q: I'm writing a post-apocalyptic story in it the main character finds a warehouse. Eventually he finds out the roof is covered with commercial solar panels. Given it's been over a year since the majority of the world died no manainence was done, do they still work?
they are in a position to be in case you're properly knowledgeable and experienced of their assembly and working function, offered you acquire the comparable severe high quality grade cells and do perfect assembly. probability is robust although that your first a number of could be in hassle-free terms somewhat below par till you rather get the carry of it and strengthen into properly practiced purely because of the fact the pros are. Does take a important volume of grunt paintings although so determine if it rather is great use of a while or in case you will do greater beneficial to earn at your prevalent paintings and pay a professional to do this which they do superb.
Q: Hello from SO TX.. I would like to know if anyone out there has SOLAR PANELS on their home?I have a 850 sq ft. house. I called Austin to a company that offers panels and installation. The cost $8,000.00, for 0 panels . The rep said we would save about 2 to 25% on our electric bill /mo. We use approximately 980 kw/mo. Our bill is around $40.00 / mo...I really don't think that's a good enough savings. We figure it would take 25 years to recoup our investment. And where we live in TX it does not offer any incentives. The gov. allows you a $2000.00 tx break.
$8,000 invested at 5% interest would pay you $900 per year for the rest of your life. If you spend $40 per month and would save 25% of that, you would save $420 per year. To be fair, the savings would creep up with the electric rates but this would be off-set by maintenance cost and equipment attrition.
Q: My home uses an average of 2400 kW per month (28,800 per year.) How much can I expect it to cost to install solar panels of this amount? (It is not my intention to go off of the electric company's grid. I would like to generate what I can / possibly sell back extra power)What quot;hiddencosts are there? What is the average life of them? What is the quot;best(cost effective and green) solution / approach?(BTW.... I am in southern LA if that makes a difference)Best answer will go to clear answer WITH links/resources to back it up!)THANKS A MILLION!!! I hope you have a safe and happy holiday season!!!
Power inverter to change 2VDC panel power to 220VAC House power. (~$600) You are also going to need various switches and a meter to keep track of how much you are sending back to your power company. Final answer... Expect to pay ~$7,000.00 with installation by a qualified electritan.
Q: Online stores selling solar photo-voltaic generation kits gives specs indicating the power generation capability of the system. For example, Solar World Grid-Tie Solar Electric System with 245W Panels PV Powered PVP2000 Inverter, .2 to 2.4 kW. This seems to indicate that the system can generate .2 to 2.4 kW. Is that per day? Per month? I'm trying to calculate the return on investment, but can't because I don't know how much power a system such as this will generate in a month.
That would have to be in that instant of time or they would say kilo watt hours or KWH for short. But being the sun doesn't shine at the same intensity over any given hour you couldn't say a solar panel rated at 2.4KW would produce 2.4KWH of electric in a given hour. The power produced would have to vary as clouds passed over head. The power would also be reduced on days of heavy overcast or rain/ snow.
Q: When I make a solar panel, what do I use to store the energy. For example I am going to make a solar panel to power my lights in my room. But I dont want the lights only to come on when the sun is out because that would be very pointless. So... Do I use the panels to charge something like a car battery and then run wires from the battery to an extension chord which will go to a surge protector? It sounds awesome, but I have to put it all together. The help is very appreciated. Thank you guys.

Q: Can solar panels be used in cold climates?
Yes, solar panels can be used in cold climates. While colder temperatures can slightly reduce their efficiency, modern solar panel technology is designed to work effectively in a wide range of temperatures. Additionally, snow can easily be cleared from the panels, allowing them to continue generating electricity during the winter months.
Q: I have heard you can make your own solar panels.... But How?Where do you start? Is it cheap, or should I just BUY them already made?
If you're thinking of solar electric panels then forget it. It you just want to dabble in solar power then shop around for a 5 volt panel. Find out how many watts it puts out and then divide the cost $$ by the wattage. The lower the cost per watt the better of a deal you'll be getting That's generally speaking of course because it doesn't take quality into account but it's a practical way to compare panels. On the other hand, it you want to make a solar panel that will heat hot water then it's a different story. You can have a lot of fun with that project and you'll find a lot of plans on the Internet.
Q: Can solar panels be used for powering outdoor recreational vehicles?
Yes, solar panels can be used for powering outdoor recreational vehicles such as RVs, campers, and boats. They provide a convenient and eco-friendly way to generate electricity for various appliances and systems in these vehicles, including lighting, refrigeration, heating, and charging electronic devices. Solar panels can harness the sun's energy to charge batteries, which can then be used to power the vehicle's electrical needs, making it a sustainable and cost-effective option for outdoor enthusiasts.
Q: Does any one know how to make a solar panel or a type of Alternative energy maker. Best answer gets 0 points

Q: I have this question for extracredit and I dont get it?How many 2V,2W PV panels would be required to supply a load that requires a 48-volt supply that can push at least 2.8 amps of current, if you assume each panel puts out A at 2 V? And how are the panels configured to supply the power requirements of the load?
4 in series for the 48V, a rack of 3 sets wired in parallel to give the current. (total of 2 panels)
