Get the pipe up to about where you want your hole and mark where it terminates. Now drill your hole and make sure everything lines up. Once it all fits mark the pipes and fittings with marker. Now when you glue just line up the markings and you should be good. That pipe is easy to work with.

Some ( when designed to hook up gas appliances ) have Flare fittings on each end. If you intend to use the flex for water, any connector will do, but if you want to run Propane or Natural gas through it, you have to use either black pipe of Flare fittings. ( For black pipe, besure to use a good sealant to prevent leaking ) You should head out to the local hardware store or Home Center and talk to the guys there.
