- Q: How do solar panels affect home resale value?
- Solar panels can increase the resale value of a home due to their potential cost savings and environmental benefits. Studies have shown that homes equipped with solar panels tend to sell faster and at higher prices compared to similar properties without solar installations.
- Q: Can solar panels be installed on government buildings?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on government buildings. In fact, many governments around the world have already embraced solar energy and installed photovoltaic systems on their buildings as part of their commitment to renewable energy and sustainability. This helps reduce the carbon footprint of government operations and serves as a positive example for the community.
- Q: Can solar panels be installed on disaster relief shelters?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on disaster relief shelters. Solar panels provide a sustainable source of energy and can help power essential equipment and devices in these shelters, such as lights, communication systems, and medical equipment. This reduces the dependency on traditional energy sources and ensures uninterrupted power supply in critical situations. Additionally, solar panels are lightweight and portable, making them suitable for temporary shelters and easy to transport to affected areas.
- Q: I have a cabin in the woods and need more light. I do have enough sun but I was wondering how or where do I get a solar panel to lead to a power outlet? In a perfect world I would like to get a solar panel with a connecting wire to an outlet or something so I could power a small TV. I know its hard enough but can I get that pre-made? Or even lastly should I look at wind power consider I would like this to be under $500? Thank you for putting up with this bundle of questions.

- Q: could any tell me what type off panel is the best tube or flat and how much it should be. I live in N Ireland
- My solar thermal installation uses a 30-tube NAVITRON panel. This has an effective area of 2m2 and produces enough hot water in summer for 3 showers and plenty of washing up! I estimate that, in it's first year, it has saved me about ?60 in gas. The panels and prices are shown in the attached link. Mine was fitted by a professional installer for ?2500, including a huge, new cylinder (dual coil) to store the extra hot water. Flat panels are much less efficient than vacuum tube collectors. While flat panels are frequently cheaper, these Navitron panels are such good value that I think buying inferior, flat panels would be a false economy.
- Q: I am looking at a need of roughly 30w/hour need per 24 hour period. I have spent several hours now looking for information online and have found plenty of info regarding the panels themselves, but information regarding the batteries backups have been slim. I understand that there is a 5-7 hour peak time to collect the energy. I am looking for information regarding the batteries themselves. How do the batteries work, what size batteries should I look for, and what is the life expectency for the batteries? Any website links would also be appreciated!
- First, you didn't say the voltage. Second, 30 W/hour per day. Third, battery backup capacity in Ah = Ampere hour. For 2 Volt DC here's the calculations : 30 w/hour means = 0.83 or rounded Ampere hour. You know peak time 5-7 hour (let say 6 hour)charging time (collect the sun energy). Ampere hour per day (24 hour), with 20 Ah Battery backup is OK. And the Solar Panel is 3 Ampere charging capacity minimal = 3 Amp x 6 hour = 8 Amp hour.
- Q: Can solar panels be installed on warehouses?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on warehouses. In fact, warehouses are ideal locations for solar panel installations due to their large roof spaces and minimal shade obstruction, allowing for maximum exposure to sunlight and optimal energy generation.
- Q: Here's a little idea I though might help everyone out in Iraq a little: How about if the US mass produces solar panels that are small enough to carry (maybe one foot by three feet) that have a regular power outlet on them to the Iraqis? We could send convoys to the people waiting in line to buy gas and give each person one free solar panel. Why?. A lot of people are buying gas to run generators for air conditioning, not to fuel vehicles. 2. It would help reduce the gas lines if people only needed gas for cars instead of their generators too.3. It would help reduce the fighting over the power grid if people didn't need the grid for their own electrical power. My theory is, once every family in Iraq has enough of these panels that they don't even care about the power grid (during the daytime anyway) it would be much easier to fix the power grid. Maybe these solar panels could even connect to and add to the power grid.
- The power we get from sun's radiation is limited by the area we receive sunshine. One square meter will have kW power from sun's radiation. For current technology, the conversion efficiency is about 8%. So one foot by three foot of solar panel only produce 80Watt. This will not be enough for your application.
- Q: I'm thinking of doing solar panel but i don't know how much they are i need help! please!
- no one has answered because you asked a question that cannot be answered. It is exactly the same question as how much is a car?. Do you want a passive solar heating panel, a solar electric panel, .5 Volts, ,000,000 BTUs, do you want just the panel or the panel installed and functioning, or what? the answer is between $5 and $5,000,000.
- Q: planning to get one, for a store/house, we use alot of electricity at least 500-3000 dollars a month. how much money would this save us? how big would we have to get the solar panel?[aproximately]
- There are a lot of factors to consider. Net metering, utility rates, number of hours of daylight, size and orientation of roof or other location. I can tell you I had a 3.74 kwhdc system which reduces my bill by about $200 a month. It cost $26K installed, I received a $0K rebate from my utility and a $2K federal tax credit. Businesses have always been able to get a 30% fed. tax credit, this year everyone gets it. If this is a business you plan on owning for a long time there is no reason why you can't do the install in stages. Of course making sure you are conserving as much energy as possible will also help. Using energy efficient lighting, appliances and electronics, Turning off lights, monitors, computers, printers etc when people go home, sharing printers and other resources, adjusting the thermostat and using natural light can all help reduce your electricity usage.
