Specifications of Vercumilite:
Vermiculite's distinct properties offer a number of benefits including high heat and fire resistance, high absorbency, excellent insulating, sound absorption and reinforcement. Vermiculite is also economical and can be modified for specialty applications.
Application of Vercumilite:
Vermiculite is most widely used in its exfoliated form. The concertina-shaped granules of exfoliated vermiculite are non-combustible as well as being insoluble in water and all organic solvents. Safe and easy to handle, exfoliated vermiculite is available in the market place in different grades as shown in the table below:
- Q:I can only think of salt! Is yeast a nutrient? Would it work? Thank-you!
- Nitrates Phosphates Potassium (so there is your famous NPK trio) magnesium (to prevent leaf yellowing) You would need (for example) an inert culture medium like vermiculite and a series of identical plants (eg cuttings, offsets etc) some you would water with all of the nutrients (in suitably dilute form) but miss out the nutrient you are investigating (e.g. nitrate) and some you would water with all the nutrients including the one you are investigating. By comparing the two groups you could get some idea of what the nutrient was used for. (If you deprive a plant of nitrates it generally remains stunted because the nitrate is needed for protein production which is in turn needed for growth). John
- Q:My worm farm says to sprinkle a handful of soil every time I add food scraps. I‘m just wondering if it‘s okay to use potting mix?
- Soaking peat is cautioned quite. Its very not ordinary to moist and then very not ordinary to dry out. With greater effective drainage your flora wont have fungus themes. you additionally can purchase fertilizer like Epsoma. That has bio tone actual in it. i like it! Its effective bacteria and fungus. they help discourage the growth of undesirable bacteria and fungus. That and made my abode flora lots greater healthful and vivacious than ever. I used it on my orchids too and by no ability had lots of flora. Any way. its un had to sterilize soil for person flora. Its basically for seeds and cuttings. in case you inquire from me I even have grown many seeds and cuttings in in many situations used airborne dirt and dust/potting soil and basically as many grew. the only component that is helped by ability of baking the soil could be killing of fungus nat larva which eat plant roots and stems below the soil.
- Q:My dirt is mostly all clay. But I want to plant a few rose bushes. Do they all need sun only? If they are climbers, I have to get something for them to climb on. Is any material better than another? Is there one type of rose that is easier to grow than another?Thank you. :)
- the new knockout series roses are easy to grow
- Q:My front yard is very sunny, as is the eastern side of my back yard. I‘m planning a vegetable garden in the back. I‘ve planted a semi-dwarf cherry tree in the front, as well as a couple of blueberry bushes, and am planning a spot for roses. I‘m relatively sure it‘s a bad idea to plant strawberries near the acidic-soil loving blueberries. but can i plant them below either the cherry tree or the roses? if neither of those are a good idea, would they do best in the vegetable garden, or should i plant them with something else in the front yard? i‘ve got some room to play with in both areas. (and i live in planting zone 7b, if that helps)
- Straw berries are not fussy. But they spread pretty easy.
- Q:In order to save money, live green and eat healthier (loose weight) I want to start an edible garden on my back deck. Unfortunately, I have a bit of a black thumb, so I need to know which fruits, berries and vegetables grow best in pots. Any ideas ?
- Try some cut and come again salad leaves. They are usually sold as seeds mixed with vermiculite so that you can spread them on a pot with all purpose compost and they will grow, quite quickly. Dwarf french beans, in another pot. Fruit is hard to grow this way but there are special pots for strawberries. You do not say where you are because it depends on the weather where you are, what you can grow. Some things are 'delicate' like tomatoes. There are varieties which will grow out doors in cool northern hemisphere so long as there is no chance or any frost. People grow peas upside down from hanging baskets, these can be snacked on, straight from the pod. If you live in a warm area peppers and chillis are happy in big pots. Courgettes will grow on very rich soil, in a pot. You will never grow enough to feed yourself from pots, plants need to have room to spread and want to be in deep soil to grow properly, but you can play at it and enjoy the taste of freshness. Forget trees, they are available for patio growing but will yield very little for the outlay. If you add where you live exactly, it will be more helpful to advise.
- Q:I am looking for small quantities of Vermiculite (medium coarseness) in or around Cleveland, Ohio.
- yes, you need to put vermiculite in an incubator for reptile incubation. You need to create a condition similar to natural incubation.
- Q:What is the difference between vermiculite and perlite?
- Theur sis chunks, rly boi, sorda vermiculite.
- Q:I purchased 2 very similar products, footwarmers, from 2 different mfg. I know Iron, potassium chloride, and water has a very warm chem. reaction. The other prod ingredients listed Iron, water, salt, and vermiculite. I just wondered.
- 32..maybe 12..
- Q:I have acquired a large number of pots that were recently (3 weeks ago) planted with everything ranging from petunias to hostas. Alot are dying. They were just planted in topsoil. I have been giving them miracle grow weekly, but does not seem to help. Should I unpot, and mix in some manure or garden soil and then replant. I do not have beds for them yet, so for now they have to go back in pots. Is it worth the stress of repotting them to give them better soil? Yes, all the pots have drain holes and have been getting watered daily, and get some sun, but not all day.
- It probably is not worth it. Not knowing all the varities, makes it hard to comment. But petunias and any other flowers, not worth the bother. The Hosta is a tropical plant, and should be planted in half plain potting mix(no fertiliser),and half light river sand. They should never bre planted just in topsoil. Dirt from garden beds contains all manner of viruses and tiny nematodes, or grubs. The Hosta is a sulker. It may recover, but will sulk for ages. The other wrong thing is you don't water daily. Your killing them with kindness. Only water when top of pot is dry.And remember size of plant. Water in the summer twice weekly, or when dry, and in winter, once or twice a fortnight. Then again Hosta likes sun, but some may not. Also do not fertilise until they need it. Plants recovering are more likely to die from over-feeding and over-watering. Good Luck!
- Q:10th grader looking for ideas. Please help! Here's a little about me- I'm sixteen. Things that interest me are art (music, drawing, dance, photography, history), philosophy, social work, people, good movies, green tea, dove milk chocolate, nature, and fitness. I'm pretty open-minded and like a lot of different things. Even though i'm interested in social work and such, I don't want to test humans or animals because that's too much work. I either want to build something or create an experiment, but I have no idea what to do! I'm pretty lost.
- How about the effect of different ice melting salts on the germination of radish or grass seeds. The concentrations would be logarithmic. NaCl, KCl, CaCl2, NaCl+KCl, NaCl+CaCl2, KCl+CaCl2, NaCl+KCl+CaCl2. Sprouted in Vermiculite plus a set volume of salt solution made in distilled water (so there are NO OTHER salts or chemicals added that can either react with the salts or affect the results) to make it moist but not wet. Sprouts all grown at the same time, for a certain length of time, and then vermiculite knocked off sprouts, then sprouts weighed individually. Weights averaged with standard deviations listed, graphs made. Maybe pictures taken if the appearance could be different. I don't know what you would expect except at high concentrations it would inhibit sprouting. And if you contaminate the experiment with phosphate then the CaCl2 will precipitate out as calcium phosphate which is basically insoluble, and so is calcium carbonate.
