Q:i was looking into making solar panels to reduce my electric bill, but i need to know how to actually hook it up.
nowing what to do with unused renewable electricity is always a dilemma – hooking up to the grid has to be the preferred option. If your residential home is grid tied, i.e. connected the electricity grid as opposed to off-grid and you are using solar panels to generate electricity. Then it makes a lot of sense to hook your solar panels to the grid, because instead of losing the unused electricity or having to maintain a bank of deep cycle batteries, you simply feed it back to the grid. You feed electricity back to the grid via your electric meter which measures the electricity in Kilowatt per hour. This has the effect of reversing your meter which in turn reduces your electricity bills and if you are generating a lot of electricity you could find the utility company owing you money! The Solar Powered System Therefore, your solar powered installation would look like this. The solar panel will connect to an “array disconnect” – you need an array disconnect for system maintenance because it allows you to easily shut off the power. The array disconnect is connected to an “inverter”. The solar panel generates DC power and the electricity from the grid is AC power. Therefore, you need an inverter to convert DC power to AC power. The inverter is connected to an “AC breaker panel”. This is the interface where your solar generated electricity meets the electric meter and allows you to feed electricity back to the grid. Now in most countries and states you are not allowed to tamper with the electric meter so at this point you should contact your local electricity energy supplier and ask them to supply an engineer to hook you up to the grid. If you have anything to add to this article or you have connected your system to the grid – tell us how you did it by writing a comment below.
Q:what is one benifit in a solar panel?
Solar panels enable use of sunlight for energy. Sunlight is a renewable resource, which means it won't run out, unlike coal and uranium (nuclear energy) and so forth. So there you go! It secures electricity for us for as long as the sun is there... which will be billions of years
Q:. Do they scratch easily? How do I remove snow from them without scratching them?2. What does the upkeep of many solar panels consist of? I want to have my electricity completely off of the grid.3. Are all solar panels made from the same material, regardless of size?
. Do they scratch easily? No How do I remove snow from them without scratching them? Just wipe the snow off 2. What does the upkeep of many solar panels consist of? Clean them with tap water and paper towels once a month. 3. Are all solar panels made from the same material, regardless of size? Basically the same.
Q:How can solar panels be used for heating water?
Solar panels can be used for heating water by using the energy from the sun to heat up a fluid, typically water or antifreeze, which then transfers the heat to a storage tank. This heated water can be used for various purposes such as showers, washing dishes, or heating indoor spaces.
Q:I am in the market for buying a home. There is one for salke that actually has solar panels on top. How are they used? Do you need to pay for gas and electric still. Does it really light up the house and keep it warm. WHat about the AC keeping hte house cool in the summer does it work for that too? Please explain in solar for dummy terms. I haveno clue about solar panels other thatn the fact that it needs sunlight to run.
I think that rustoria67 bumped his head on some thing. There are thousands of homes using only solar panels to power their homes, and it no way near an acre of them. With the right setup Kw of panels will work. Remember one can't bring a boat to an airplane race and hope to win. Look at this link.
Q:I really would like to have my own solar panel, but i don't know how. Most of the panels i have looked at are for car batteries but i'm not sure how this would be able to be transfered into electricity. I'm looking to power things like lamps, a stereo and various chargers for phones and ipods. Please explain to me how i could adapt a solar panel to my uses. Thank you.
Sounds okorder .. I've seen the particular device listed there. While the lamp is mediocre for an LED light source, the panel is excellent - real polysilicon wafers, in an aluminum frame. Same construction as the kind of panels in commercial installations.
Q:I've recently started a project to help my store become more green and I need to get some estimates from businesses and if all goes according to plan we will have some panels on our roof and some other measures that I've written into my proposal. Any help is welcome. Just so you know it's a large grocery store in a corporate chain and I've been approved to do all the research, just no promises of payment.

Q:I used to live from my car and i am soon returning to that way.I want a solar panel to a battery to a surge protector so that i can use a portable wifi box and my laptop at the same time. Also i would charge my phone occasionally.I would like the charge to be enough for several days in case of cloudy weather.I just do not want anything to short circuit or ruin my laptop etc.Is thete a way to get this? What do i need or what exactly should i look into?
laptop don't get enough power.
Q:Why can't they put solar-panels on the blades and sides of the 300-500 foot tall turbines? Wouldn't this increase effeciency? Therefore, boosting pay-back time, profits, energy-output?
It would work better to put the solar panels on the ground beneath the windmills. Land underneath wind farms is perfectly usable for other things, and it gets plenty of sun. But then, if you think about good places for solar panels, parking lots make even more sense yet. There's plenty of em, and people like to park in the shade.
Q:Can solar panels be used for camping or outdoor activities?
Yes, solar panels can be used for camping or outdoor activities. They are portable and can provide a sustainable source of energy to power various devices such as phones, lights, and even small appliances. Solar panels are lightweight, easy to set up, and can harness sunlight to charge batteries or directly power devices, making them an ideal solution for off-grid adventures.
