Q: I'm conducting a research project and I need a long plastic tube about 20 to 30 feet long with a diameter of 10 or more inches. Approximately how much will I have to pay?
You can buy the corrugated pipe that is flex-able and not very thick the cheapest.
Q: My girlfriend got me a roll of the new 2009 pennies. I'm curious to actually look at them, but I'm worried that if I break open the roll, that will decrease the value of them. If I opened the roll and put the pennies in a tube (assuming I don't get fingerprints on them), will they be worth less than if I just keep them in the original paper roll?
it depends if the paper wrapper is a special mint one or just a bank one. if a special wrapper it is best to keep it in it. The mint is selling the rolls with a special wrapper. However paper is not good for coins for most wrappers are cheaply made and have acids in the paper. A hard plastic coin tube is the best for it is archival to an extent, for air still can get in there. A pair of white cotton coin gloves stops the finger prints on the coins problem. A soft clean handkerchief that has no fabric softener on it works well also, but one needs to be more careful. hope this helps.
Q: What pipes and connections are commonly used in sewage pipes?
Pipes are usually made of sewage pipes:PVC drainage pipes are generally used in the drainage of buildings, and large diameter pipes for outdoor use are double wall corrugated pipes, and industrial sewage needs special drainage pipes.
Q: i connected a plastic tube about 7 or 8 inchs long onto a butane can im wondering if when i push down on the can and put a match near it can the fire go back into the can and make the can explode
Sure can, even if you've posted this in the wrong category. Funny thing about fire... it likes to burn as long as possible so if the flame makes it's way into the tube... you should duck. Don't be foolish, keep your hands, fingers, eyebrows, etc and quit playing with fire.
Q: This is for an engineering class. The tower cannot have any supports and must extend horizontally over 7 feet without touching the floor. It can bend. It is also going to be extended from a 1.5 inch plastic tube. Please answer ASAP! Need answer before 11/28/07. Thanks
You need to provide a sketch of some kind. Cannot visualize your problem.
Q: How do plastic tubes compare to PET tubes in terms of clarity and recyclability?
Plastic tubes are generally less clear and less recyclable compared to PET tubes. PET tubes, made from polyethylene terephthalate, offer superior clarity, allowing for better visibility of the product inside. Moreover, PET is a highly recyclable material and can be easily reprocessed into new products. On the other hand, plastic tubes, which can be made from various types of plastics, often have lower clarity and may not be as easily recyclable due to the different types of plastic used in their production.
Q: Are plastic tubes suitable for pharmaceutical applications?
Yes, plastic tubes are suitable for pharmaceutical applications. They are commonly used for packaging and dispensing various pharmaceutical products such as creams, ointments, gels, and liquids. Plastic tubes offer advantages like being lightweight, cost-effective, and easily customizable for different product sizes and shapes. Additionally, they provide good barrier properties to protect the contents from moisture, light, and air, ensuring the integrity and shelf life of pharmaceutical products.
Q: What is the maximum pressure that plastic tubes can handle?
The maximum pressure that plastic tubes can handle varies depending on the type of plastic used and the specific design and thickness of the tube. Generally, plastic tubes can handle pressures ranging from a few hundred psi (pounds per square inch) to several thousand psi. It is important to consult the manufacturer's specifications and guidelines to determine the maximum pressure rating for a particular plastic tube.
Q: They live in an aquarium that has an attachment on top that allows for a second floor. There are plastic tubes that run between the two levels. They both constantly scratch violently at them, and i dont want them to break the tubes. Does anyone know why they're doing this? And what can i do to stop them? Maybe there's something else i can give them to scratch?
The first thing you need to do is put the gerbil in a closet, bathroom, or another room at night so you can sleep and the gerbil can make noise. :) Gerbils will shred anything and everything so ideally they should be kept in glass aquararium tanks which are easier to clean and therefore more sanitary and healthier for your pet. Wire cages only encourage rodents to poke their noses through and chew on the bars. That's unsanitary because it's hard to clean and they'll often get sores on their noses from doing that. Also, since respiratory infections are common you want ventilation, but not a draft. So get rid of the plastic - it'll get chewed to bits eventually anyway - and get a tank. Also put plenty of chewing blocks in there so your gerbil can keep it's teeth filed down. That noise can also be loud, but it's a necessary for them to chew and you just put them in another room.
Q: I adopted two new gerbils yesterday, and they are pretty well adapted so far. They live in an aquarium with a connected bin which is much larger and hold many things to chew on tons of bedding to dig in. These are two of the things they like best. Unfortunately, despite having tons of things to chew on including paper towels, wood blocks (which they don't find the least bit interesting), and cardboard (which is their favorite thing to chew on), one of my gerbils still resorts to chewing on the inside of the plastic tubes connecting the bin to the aquarium. Any ideas on how to stop it? I can't connect them any other way, and the only way they would get to the bin other than the tubes, would be for me to manually place them there (they don't trust me completely yet, but they are curious and have come up and sniffed, walked on my hand). Trying to catch them makes feel like a I'm stressing them out, and making them scared of me. What should I do?
Hi :) Unfortunately there's not much you can really do to stop your gerbils chewing the tube. Unfortunately gerbils tend to chew everything they're not supposed to and ignore everything you buy them to chew on. I'm assuming the tube is plastic. Plastic is irresistible to gerbils, they love it, but its not good for their stomachs if swallowed. The only thing I can think of is if there's any possible way you can make, or find a new tube out of metal or glass. It seems to be the only thing gerbils can't get through!
