If you make a trip to your nearest petsmart, they sell a spray that can be used on almost everything such as furniture and plants keeping dogs from chewing or biting ! The product is save and works wonders ! I used it only once and never had a problem again with my dog. Product is save for both the dog and the environment. - Any of the good epoxies will work. Just make sure the epoxy is rated for outdoor use and the part to be glued is dry and clean before applying. If you can, after gluing and to make sure the parts stay in contact, you might use some duct tape to hold things together. If the repair isn't visible , you can leave the tape on. If it will be visible, the tape can be removed after the epoxy has cured. (allow proper curing times with longer curing times possible with winter temperatures)

I would also look into glass tabletop covers as they will be less likely to scratch over the long term and can be purchased at andy glass specialty shop and hobby lobby even carries an assortment of glass table tops.....the backside of the glass can be painted to any hue you want using glass paints from a craft store! Just be sure to put a clear finish on to protect it if you do!
