- Q: I am working on case modding my wii and I want to cut a stenciled design out of the plastic on the side. Is there a certain tool that can do this eficiently? im not sure a dremel would work with such an intricuite design (sorry for spelling) so which tool should i use?
- Anthony, I would use a spray glue (sold in the glue section of most stores) and spray the adhesive to the stencil and then apply to the plastic. It's simple to do, just follow directions on the can. Then if you have access to a scrollsaw, you can use a fine blade and cut the design with little trouble, no matter how intricate the design. Of course if you're unable to lay the area onto the flat surface of the scrollsaw, this won't be an option. If you use a dremel, it will be very difficult to follow the lines, plus it will leave a melted area along the cut lines. you could try using a plastic cutting knife, but if the detail is intricate, you won't have very good control. If the plastic is thick, it probably won't cut through the material. You may be able to use a coping saw, if the throat on the saw will clear the side of the plastic so you can cut it. You'd have to drill a starting point for the blade to enter. If the throat is not wide enough on the saw, try removing the blade from the saw and use it without the saw. The blade is very fine and should cut the material, including the intricate areas. That's about they only reliable ideas I can muster. Perhaps someone else has some ideas. good luck

- Not a bad idea but I don't think it's necessary. You could try it though. I just don't think it's worth it. (I can tell you that putting a paper under it won't help. If anything it makes using it more difficult.) This is assuming you're not going to be sitting at your computer drawing (or whatever) constantly 24/7. Bamboo create has an eraser on the back of the pen. If you feel like your nib is wearing out to quick you can draw with it as well. I don't notice much of a difference between drawing with the nib side or the eraser side. Also the tablet does come with a few replacement nibs. They'll last longer than you think! Just DON'T loose them! If you want the nib to last longer only use it for drawing (or whatever it is you specifically got it for) use the eraser or you finger the rest of the time. I've had my tablet for half a year and I haven't even gone through one nib even though I draw a lot. I would also like to note that at some point you will most likely need to install a driver to your computer. I had a rather annoying issue a few months ago when the tablet knew the pen was there but the cusser wasn't showing up on the screen. The driver fixed this all up. I've also had a very positive experience with customer service. Sent me a new USB cord when my original broke, no questions asked. :)

- Q: Hi All,(sorry if this is in the wrong category, I couldn't find appropriate)I'm trying to bind a book, preferably on my own without going to kinkos or wherever. But the sheets are not regular sheets of paper but overhead sheets (plastic sheets.) I want it to look clean like a real book, but because they are overhead sheets, I'm worried that they might fall apart or be too bulky. I was thinking glue, as in hot glue because I can't find anywhere that does hot press - I'm in Toronto.Does anyone have any suggestions? I was going to sew them, but the paper is, again, too thick.
- sewing may work if you pre-punch the holes with a hole puncher

- You can buy the plastic sheetholders or you can make your own by attaching two blank transparency sheets together with a small band of double-stick tape between them at one edge. You can also make your own by buying the mylar film from an arts and craft store. But, remember that the more things you have between the scanning optics and the material (pictures) the more distortion is introduced. (The plastic film or sheet protectors will distort your picture very slightly.)
