Simple sense

Microlite is similar to granite forming conditions of high temperature, the crystallization and into the material. In terms of appearance quality, the polishing plate surface finish is far higher than stone (photometric gloss units can reach 90-90), the characteristics of the more important is that its special crystallite structure, make the light shot from any Angle, through the essence of fine crystal particles diffuse reflection, can be the light evenly distributed to any Angle (rather than just like mirror is focused on the reflection Angle), the sheet forming soft jade, more glittering and translucent and smooth than natural stone material, make the building more colorful.

performance

More physical and chemical advantages than natural stone: microlite is similar to granite forming conditions of high temperature condition, through the special process of sintering, and homogeneous structure, density, hardness, compressive strength, flexural, impact resistance and other performance is better than that of natural stone material, excellent durability, not easy damaged, less common finely crack of natural stone.

Quality of a material

Board face burnish glittering and translucent soft: microcrystalline structure of microcrystalline both special, special glass matrix structure, fine texture, board face, beautiful for incoming light can spread diffuse reflection effect, make the person feels soft and harmonious.

color

The making craft of microcrystalline, can be used according to the need to produce a rich and colorful color series (especially in the crystal white, cream-colored, shallow ash White linen four color is * * * for fashion, popular), at the same time, can make up for the defect of natural stone color again, the products are widely used in hotels, office buildings, station, airport and other internal and external decoration, more suitable for family, senior decoration, such as metope, ground, trim panel, furniture, basin, etc.

Alkali resistance

Microcrystalline as stable chemical performance quality, and the crystallization inorganic material, and glass matrix structure, acid and alkali resistance, corrosion resistance are better than natural stone material, especially the weather is more outstanding, withstand sun for a long time to also won't be flatting, will not reduce the strength.

Excellent stain resistance, convenient and clean maintenance

Microcrystalline bibulous rate is extremely low, nearly to zero, a variety of filthy mud slurry, dyeing solution is not easy to invade the penetration, attached to the surface is easy to remove dirt rub-up, especially convenient for building cleaning and maintenance.

Members of the opposite sex

Microcrystalline heating methods are available, and made all kinds of customers arc, surface plate, possesses the advantages of simple process, low cost, avoid the arc stone processing a large number of cutting, grinding, time-consuming and material consumption, waste of resources and other abuses.

Contains no radiation

Microlite production has been artificially eliminated any containing radioactive elements, excluding like natural stone material possible radiation damage to human body, is the modern * * * for security of green environmental protection material.

disadvantages

1, the surface of the microcrystalline jade crystal layer mohs hardness for 5 to 6 level, strength is lower than polishing brick mohs hardness grade 6 and 7.

2, microlite high surface gloss, can achieve 90%, if any scratches it is easy to emerge.

3, microlite surface has a certain number of pinhole, encounter dirt is easy to appear.

4, in addition to a small number of high-grade microlite tile, each is different because most microlite floor tile decorative pattern, it's hard to do pattern seamless docking.

Q: We are about to install 450 sq ft of 18x18 inch travertine tile on an indoor concrete floor and I need as much information about the installation process as possible. I have done a number of ceramic tile jobs, but never laid travertine. Some of the questions I have are:1. is it best to use spacers and grout, or butt the tiles?2. if I use spacers, what size should I use?3. should I apply a coat of sealer to the tiles before laying them?4. what size notched trowel should I use and at what angle?5. how many coats of sealer, brand and type of finish is recommended?6. I read somewhere that it is not recommended laying travertine straight, but in a Versailles pattern. Any one have any idea what this is?Does anyone have any more advice on laying this type of tile. Any advice will be deeply appreciated. Don

Q: I have a bunch of bottle caps and I thought it might be cool to encase them in some type of clear material so I could use them for tiles in my shower. Is it even possible to do that?
I think that you can make tiles with resin. Just make a mold of a tile. A square mold, put the caps inside, then pour the resin inside and let it dry. It might work that way.
Q: I want room color which color perfectly adjust with my granite green tile
Hi Maruf, I would choose a Light Steel Grey color to compliment the Granite Green tile.Granite Green tile is beautiful, choosing a color that blends to much with the tile will not enhance the look of your tile. The Light grey color will pick up the green hues in your tile, yet allow your tile to have center stage of visual appeal ! If you are truly not interested in a Light grey then my second suggestion for you is Sage Green. Best of Luck!
Q: My kitchen has ceramic tile already installed and I despise it and have for years. I do not want to put a big investment into this house as I do not plan on living there for much over 2 more years. I just want to cover it up and make it look better. This site seems pretty legit and only deals with self stick tile. Anyone know of pros or cons? Have any suggestions?
Cons would be that it costs close to $10 a square foot. I also doubt that it looks as good in person as the site claims. I've installed a lot of surface coverings, including tile-textured vinyl wallpaper and a variety of peel and stick material and they rarely look that convincing when they are right under your nose, as a countertop backsplash would be. That's a lot of money for a coverup job, And you don't say where the tile is installed. Walls? Countertop? Floors? That stickandgo is strictly for walls, not any area that would have moisture lying on it or traffic. If it is just your walls it would be a lot cheaper just to hire someone to tear off the ceramic tile and put up something different. It only cost me $6 a square foot for labor and $3 for material to have a real ceramic subway tile back splash installed in my kitchen last year. It would be even less if you did it yourself. If you are thinking of covering a floor, look at the Trafficmaster Allure material at Home Depot -- excellent product and about $2 a square foot. Installs like a dream, completely waterproof, can go over an uneven surface, adheres to itself, not what is behind it (it floats), easy to remove later, and both the tile and wood versions look and feel absolutely real. We did my friend's large bathroom with it in less than 4 hours last winter and it looks like a hardwood floor and holds up to anything. I used the slate-look tiles in my breakfast room of my previous house and everyone who saw it thought it was real stone. If it's your countertops, it is easy and cheap to replace countertops with new laminate and the new laminates are not your Grandma's formica -- many look like high-end granite and even metals.
Q: I got these tiles at a yard sale. They appear to be very old, hand painted and likely of Mexican origin. The label is tattered and faded, but I would love to know more about them. Thanks for any info in advance.
Very nice and I am sure that once you put them up you will love the vintage old world look that they will give your room. Have fun!
Q: tiles on back splash, work done in south florida, 4x4 inch tiles
shouldnt be know more then 125 - 150
Q: making a counter top from spare tile pieces
Prep your counter to meet tile standards, Each one can be different so with out knowing what yours is I cant say there. You ll need to figure what you want to do with the edge to trim it out. You can use a tile bull nose or a wood trim. Spread the needed glue, usually a thin set , over a small area. Then you can break tiles , ( very carefully) with a hammer or a pair of tile nippers. I use tile nippers to create the piece effect. These methods are called rubble effect. You ll need a honing stone to hone the tile edges so they are not sharp. Set into the wet glue, don t let it skim over or become dry. Grout as needed depending on what type of tile you use. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL
Q: we are planning on replacing our livingroom carpet, !/2 of it withceramic tile. Is there any do‘s and don‘ts to consider. Thanks.
have a good surface underneath. I lay tile, and prefer cement board as an underlayment prior to laying tile on any surface. Plywood holds moisture and eventually rots. Do it right the first time and you won't be replacing it in 5 - 10 years.
Q: We have a two sink bathroom set up would like to replace the counter-top with a homemade tile counter-top - we are pretty handy but have not dealt with tile before - and before I ask my dad for help I thought why not check out yahoo answers. Thanks! :)
This isn't a very difficult task to undertake. There are several factors to consider when building this counter top: size of tile compared to counter top size (to figure out where the cuts will be other than the back, of course), top mount sink or undermount sink (how to finish the sink opening) and remember that a tile countertop will raise the sink and therefore you may need an extension for your pop-up/p-trap, will there be a backsplash? will that backsplash interfere with any outlets?, does the tile come with matching end caps or will you be using wood to cap the ends? Picking out the proper material and knowing how to do the job start to finish will make things soooo much easier. I would definitely use a 3/4 exterior grade plywood with cement board and cement board screws. Some tiles already come pre-spaced (4 1/4 x 4 1/4 tiles). Shoot me an email with some piictures of the project and I will try to help you and see where you possibly may run into some problems (if any). In the meantime, I suggest looking in HD or Lowes for those step-by-step books.
Q: Small size tiles for external walls
45 * 45mm, 45 * 95mm, 45 * 195mm, 100 * 100mm, 100 * 200mm, 110 * 250mm, 140 * 280mm Tiles, including 100mm * 100mm150mm * 150mm two or so super 200mm should be called tiles 10CM * 10CM, (a lot of specifications) mainly look at what you personally like the specifications.
