- The interconnect signals aren't standard across different manufacturers (and sometimes not even between different models from the same manufacturer). I'd be inclined to just bite the bullet and replace them all with the same model at the same time (then you know they'll work together). The wired interconnect models may never be standardized as it appears most manufacturers are moving towards the wireless interconnects (which probably aren't standardized either). :/

- lightening rods? vaccuums? that's silly. Any christian that is agains vaccuums and lightening rods needs to relax. The Bible talks about the world implying it is round. - Q: Swagelok sells SWAK at $40 or more for an 8oz. tube. Then there's another brand, something like STALOCK or whatever it's called, and it runs for $68 for an 8oz. tube. On the other hand, you can buy a 16oz. bottle of RectorSeal 5 for $20-$30, and other PTFE dopes for less.So, how do you really evaluate which pipe dope will work for stainless? We had a horrifying time at one plant with 2 SS threaded fittings, seemed they all got galled and leaked. Any ideas? Can you really trust lower end pipe dope?
- To get water from one place to another? Very usefull for plumbing up all sorts of things, Sump filters, central filtration systems, automatic water changers etc. I have to go and buy a length, and a heap of various fittings, this week to connect my new tanks to their home made sump filters. Ian
- Q: Hi so I was looking at the ceiling (dont ask why I zoned out) and I noticed that I dont have a smoke detector in my room there isnt one in my brothers room or my dad's room nor in the kitchen or living/dining room, there is one in the whole apartment (it is a one level), then I looked outside and there is one smoke detector outside right in between us and our 2 nieghboors, is there anything I can do maybe report this as this just doesnt seem safe I remember when I live in our house that we had one in each room (3) one at the top of the stares and on in the loft, any advice is well taken THANK YOU FOR READING

- A quick way to test it is to take some rubbing alcohol and put it on a tissue and roll it over the ball a couple of times in all directions, and see if that gets it to work. The alcohol will give the ball some extra traction for a little while, in fact you may find the ball drags at first because it is too clean. If this allows the mouse to work properly then you haven't cleaned the rollers well enough. The build up on rollers can be quite a bit, and hard to see. Since I use relatively rare and expensive trackball keyboards I have to clean mine alot. I remove the ball, take a small razor knife (one of those that comes 3 to a package, small - large - glass scraper - for 99 cents), and use that to scrape each roller gently. make sure you don't gouge the rubber. Every now and then blow on it to get rid of the gunk you are scraping off. Put some alcohol on a tissue and gently rub it on each roller making sure to turn it all the way around the whole roller. Clean the ball again with alcohol and put it back in and you should be ready to er roll Or as someone suggested get a new one at Wal-Mart, Ocean State Job lot etc. for 10 bucks. Good luck.

- We just remodeled our kitchen and added a dish machine. The plumbing cost us around $30 and we did it ourselves. If you have to call a plumber it will cost a lot more.

- as a temp repair use some car body filler, or fuel tank repairer. if it is a compression fitting ( one you use a spanner to tighten ) pull the nut side back dry pipe fitting ( towel hair drier ) mix some filler with the hardener apply round where fitting screws together and re screw nut side back on applying some more to cover the outside of fitting be generous ,use hair drier again to warm the pipe to help start th hardening process once hard about half to one hour slowly turn water back on. if its a push on fitting pull fitting back dry apply car filler push back on apply some more over fitting pipe for at lest a couple of inches or so quite thickly allow to harden. this is for the fittings, if its the pipe its self form a half inch thick coating completely round pipe for a couple of inches either way ( or as far as you can) along pipe. also if its a compression (screw together fitting wrapping some ptf tape round threads olive (small ring of metal on pipe ) then re fixing the nut end should do the trick. the first two should only be treated as temp.

- It is best not to use, with American conical teeth hard seal, NPTF generally very few people with this. High precision ah!
