- Q: This will be more efficient since right now the bed covers the vent, just wanted to somehow route the cool air away from under the bed so my roommate won't have to turn the air really cold to cool down at night. Thanks in advance.
- It's called a vent extender. You can buy one pretty much anywhere. OKorder carries them for a good price.
- Q: Can plastic tubes be used for pneumatic systems?
- Yes, plastic tubes can be used for pneumatic systems. Plastic tubes are commonly used in pneumatic systems due to their lightweight, flexible, and cost-effective nature. They can effectively transmit compressed air or gas and are available in various sizes and materials to suit different pressure and application requirements.
- Q: I remember when I was a kid my mother had a bunch of different cake decorating tubes in various colors and I'm pretty sure she still has them - and may use them, lol! OK, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but seriously, how long can I keep and use those little plastic squirt tubes of colored icing that you use to decorate cakes and cookies - realistically? Thanks!
- Most decorating tubes are fine as long as they are cleaned thrall with warm soapy water other than that they should be fine
- Q: Wondering if there is any health risk associated with putting pieces of copper pipe, plastic PVC (?) pipe, or garden hose pieces into a campfire? I have been to campfires where these things have been put into the fire, and it does make the fire turn all kinds of colors. Just wondering if it's safe to sit around the burning campfire with these things added....
- Copper shouldn't be a problem, but PVC and Plastic or rubber hose will burn and give off noxious fumes.
- Q: What are the different closure options for flip-top tubes?
- Some of the different closure options for flip-top tubes include screw caps, snap caps, and flip-top caps. These closures provide easy access to the contents of the tube while also ensuring a secure seal to prevent leakage or contamination.
- Q: While changing the toilet paper my daughter accidentally flushed down the toilet the inner rod that goes through the cardboard tube to keep the roll in the holder. Unfortunately it’s large enough to cause a blockage so I need to get it out. It’s also made of hollow plastic, and will float – so the fact that I can’t see it means it is at least on the other side of the U-bend. A wire hook won’t help, there’s nothing to hook on to. How can I get it out?
- Wet vac! Or else it's gone!
- Q: My husband and I hadm made steak and eggs for breakfast this morning with our left over steak from Christmas day. It was a large piece of filette mignon (sorry for the spelling if thats wrong) when he cut into his it he pulled.out a long clear plastic/rubber tube!! Clearly not part of the animal at all... it looks like.an air tube or something. About 2 inches long. . Its freaking me out! What should we do about this?? Infeel like we can't even trust if the meat we buy is all natural anymore.
- Take the offending product back to the store with the receipt and get your money back. Don't invest much thought into it, nor draw conclusions about all meat, as this is a rarity. I go back with a bad piece of fruit, set it on the counter with my receipt, get the money and spend it on something else. There is no drama to it. It is business. Meat is handled elsewhere, not at the store. They do it at the distribution center. If you want good meat, prime, and individually cut, go to a good butcher in your local community. If you didn't keep the receipt and the packaging, there is nothing to do. Consider it a lesson learned.
- Q: Sooo...i'm having some trouble here. I have about 3000 feet of plastic tubing (that looks a lot like the rubber tubing you'd see in a lab). Thats all i know about it.....and i need to find the right sized pump to get 2 gpm of water. Its 1/2 inch diameter tubing. Any sort of estimate would be nice.......trying to make sure i don't get a pump to weak. But don't wanna go to overboard (limited funds). thanks
- I suppose that tubing will be used horizontal at all times during the course of operation with out any fittings. If yes then get pressure at the outlet end by Q (Flow)= Pressure x Area (inner) Find pressure drop from any sourse ( e.g. Ask manufacturer for pressure drop per 1000 foot) Add pressure drop of entire lenght to pressure from formula. Have 20% safety factor added. In case of any fittings used add pressure drop of fittings (from Mfg.) to pressure drop of tubing, if height changes; for every 2.31 feet have a loss of 1 PSI added to original loss of tubing before adding safety factor. Hope it help
- Q: How do you prevent plastic tubes from yellowing?
- To prevent plastic tubes from yellowing, it is recommended to store them away from direct sunlight and high temperatures. Additionally, using UV protective coatings or additives can help maintain their clarity and prevent yellowing over time. Regular cleaning with mild detergent and avoiding exposure to chemicals or harsh cleaners can also contribute to preserving the tubes' appearance.
- Q: I have recently upgraded my fishtank. The new one has 3 under-gravel filters and I am using my old charcoal and wool filter as well. I am using a Sonic 9905 pump that has 2 air connections. When I first set it up 2 days ago, all three gravel tubes, connected by T pieces, flowed with no problems and the other filter had it's own tube. Now, either the 2 tubes closest to the pump work, or the further one. They seem to change randomly. How can I get all three to flow constantly?
- If the T piece do not have a regulator on it, replace it with one that has. This is usually called an air regulator. It has a knob on it that you can use to regulate the flow of the air in the tube. Or you can buy a piece of valve that can pinch the plastic air tube so that you can regulate the air that goes into one tube or the other. These are available in your LFS. Ask them and let them show you how they do it.
