Usage of Portable Dry Powder Fire Extinguisher

1Pull the Pin at the top of the extinguisher. The pin releases a locking mechanism and will allow you to discharge the extinguisher.

2Aim at the base of the fire, not the flames. This is important - in order to put out the fire, you must extinguish the fuel.

3Squeeze the lever slowly. This will release the extinguishing agent in the extinguisher. If the handle is seleased, the discharge will stop.

4Sweep from side to side. Using a sweeping motion, move the fire extinguisher back and forth until the fire is completely out. Operate the extinguisher from a safe distance, several feet away, and then move towards the fire once it starts to diminish.

Q: I'm extending my bathroom about 4 feet and am planning to move my sink over to the right 2 feet. I am getting a vanity with drawers on the left, so that I can run the piping from the current setup over to the new sink while being hidden by the vanity and not having to worry about the drawers not being able to close because of the pipes. I'm just curious what I need to do this? I'm assuming something 90 degrees since I will need to turn it to the right, but I don't know what to look for at the hardware store.do I need metal, pvc? Thanks!: Well I'd imagine that you would have to give them a guided tour of the house, pointing out all necessary fire exits and, as you say, any fire extinguishers in the house. Q: why does my copper pipe get pin size hole in it?: Besides the quick bottle pressure check of the guage to make sure there is pressure in the bottle, many types of rechargeable fire extinguishers are hydrostatically tested to verify the mechanical integrity of the bottle. The fire extinguisher contents are removed and the bottle is immersed in a tank to measure its displacement (volume) and filled with high pressure water above the working pressure. The bottle should expand within a certain range. Too much expansion and bottle metal may be yielding from fatigue, too little, and it may be work hardening from pressure cycling and may experience brittle failure.

Wrist is quite delicate, unlike elbow locks or large joints, if someone has serious intention of turning it into a dislocation, unless you flip at the right timing, you could get your wrist broken in just a twitch. Well maybe not but still it would cost your wrist some pain that could well disable your hand and grasping abilities. I seriously doubt that throwing yourself works since you only turn with compliance from the partner, if you partner wanted to hurt you the wrist could go before you actually turn. LAPD once taught that you forcefully push your wrist straight with your free hand. Afterwards break the grip, but that's only for restraining locks, not serious locks. Plus there are some alternatives like pushing someone's face while drawing your hand back simultaneously but that depends on speed and how early it happens. Basically I think if someone already has a firm grip on your hand and will easily turn it, your wrist will break. So the best escape would be to ask nicely to the guy restraining you and convince that person, you're not a serious threat. You should have never let them got a grip on your wrist, since the wrist twisters are weakest at that stage because they reveal and open themselves up by being too close and handing out one hand at least to secure your wrist. Deal with them here would be better.

Does anyone know of a site where I can find this?: No chance it's still good. The propellant is long gone and even the powdered product has compacted into a hard mass at the bottom of the tank. You could take it to a place that recharges extinguishers. It's possible that they can evacuate the powder, replace it and recharge the tank. Then you can ask them to set up an inspection schedule for you to either come to your place or have you take it to them to check the pressure and viability of the powder. The older extinguishers are almost always rechargeable while the newest ones rarely are unless you get the really expensive ones. I just went through this and it's worth it to have a good extinguisher recharged rather than take a chance on new ones being really rechargeable (regardless of what they say when you buy them.)
